Everybody knows Chris Hansen, either from TV, early YouTube compilations, his kickstarted show of mediocre quality, or now for having his own YouTube channel.
The first waves made by his YouTube presence is probably thanks to Gus Johnson who made a satirical call-out video on the absolute state of his 'big reveal':
Since then, literally overnight, his channel had an overhaul and he's now showing his silver mane in high quality.
That aside, in this pedophile and rapist infested day and age; does this dude have a foot to stand on? He pioneered mainstream catfishing but everyone blindly accepted it because nobody likes a pedophile, but how is this gonna play out today? His website teases a new 'Vs. Predators' series, which is likely more of the same stale beef.
I've no idea of the ins and out of catfishing and US law, but he must've perfected the line between, making his business a very niche monopoly. However, considering he's a bit of a grandpa memester these days, wouldn't it be more profitable or of more cultural worth to do the usual tour of podcast appearances and talk shows? He's got quite a unique history and perspective. Hell, he'd be great on Dr Phil's podcast.
tl;dr Hansen started uploading old and unreleased content; new series to be aired, seemingly took 'have a seat' to heart; possibly trying to become relevant beyond a catchphrase.
