76 years ago on this date Japan surrendered to the Allies on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.

Sure don't see much about this in the media today. Wonder why.

Millions of men, women, and children sacrificed and died to make V-J Day possible.

"Those who don't remember their history will have to repeat it." I don't want to repeat such history. That's why I remember my history. So should all of us.

Thank you, based Fat Man and Little Boy, for bringing us anime.

The war was righteous, but the peace was squandered.

The Jap war criminals got off lightly. Zaibatsus and pre-war political order not thoroughly reformed.

Lost China to the Reds.

Lost the East Indies, Indochina, and all the other colonial possessions to the natives.

props to those jap soldiers who kept fighting and attacking U.S. troops passing by even after the war was long over

Nukes built By Nazis
Nazis allied with Japan
Nukes dropped on Japan
Nazis nuked their ally.

Must have still been salty from the Russian betrayal

I still thank God for the atom bomb, my grandfather was a soldier who was about to be shipped off from Europe to Japan when the surrender happened. Kept Grandpa Dag from being among the dead in Overlord.
