"Continental" philosophy? "Analytical" philosophy?

You can't just assume people know what you're talking about. Even if they've heard of it they might know it under a different name.
 
The gap never needed to be bridged, it was rather a sundering by man in the first place. Before Kant and Positivism existed Aquinas. This division only exists if you accept Occam's nominalism, if you do not, then Christianity is the bridge in a gap which Man created, not God.
