I actually asked chat GPT to write me a poem in Sindarin, using a Homeric style Dactylic Hexameter last month.
It was aight, actually, though it prefaced it by stating that it couldn't make the meter perfect.
I didn't save it however; poof.
Here; I'll ask it the same prompt;
Fiddled around and got
Ah, to bring this poem into the style of Homer, we’ll aim to emulate the grandeur and epic tone that’s characteristic of his works, with sweeping imagery and elevated language. Here’s the Sindarin poem rewritten in a Homeric style:
Elenath lín a linath, alfirin naidril,
O stars and light, ageless, radiant beyond measure,
Rochandir na-thalion, gladrim thaliondir,
Horsemen of strength, the mighty trees of the ancient wood,
Ithil ar Anar, na nallath enor,
The Moon and the Sun, in the farthest reaches of the world,
Im milad lín, gwad naur, dîn na-harthad.
I love thee, O fire and light, whose legacy burns forever,
Lothril dîn naul, in tîr annûn,
Thy flower blooms, watching from the western shores of twilight,
Cennas galadril, elenath tirad!
Behold, the shining light of the stars, whose watch shall never fade!
It had to be prodded here and there, and I found insisting on a Homeric tone specifically gave me a better result.
Maybe I could ask it to emulate some other writer's style.
I think you can basically do that with the current models, if you got the right prompts.
