Today, I was out shopping with my mother and in front of the grocery store I noticed a blood donation bus and decided I wanted to go in and donate blood, and my mother went shopping. I was nervous because while I have donated before(including plasma) I have been turned down my last few times because my iron was too low. In an attempt to loose weight and be more healthier, I have radically changed my diet and I rarely eat red meat, so I was worried that my iron would still be too low. However, much to my amazement it was 19, the highest it's ever been and I was able to donate.
I was talking to Calmmytits and facebook and she mentioned that Chris had a new facebook post and that got me thinking. Has he ever donated blood? Technically, he would not qualify now because he might have had sex with a prostitute and they ask you that when you donate. However, given Chris' history of honesty he would probably lie. Also, besides iron they also check your blood pressure and pulse. I am not sure what their danger limit is or if he could pass it.
However, would Chris in the past or possibly present Chris possibly consider donating blood? Maybe when he was younger he could have done it, but would he consider it now?
Here, is another thought, would be donate platelets, or plasma that goes to cancer patients. It is a much longer process and while it has no effect on some people, but it makes me very cold and weak. It is usually over an hour too and you constantly have to squeeze a ball.
It should be noted, that often they give you free things. Today, I got a T-shirt and we know Chris loves free T-shirts, but in the past I've gotten free umbrellas and bags for my donations. They also almost always offer snacks and drinks as well.
So would Chris do it? Has he done it? Would he even be able to do it?
