Japan is run by a far-right organization in most levels of government (Nippon Kaigi, LDP, Komeito), it has a patriachal monarchy (Yamato), and Tokyo the capital has had a right-wing government since the beginning of time.

The irony is that Trash Taste would be considered political radical fringe in Japan, the mainstream Japanese political landscape is more right-wing than Southern Baptist Church.

The past 4 Prime Ministers are literally Japanese supremacists, including Abe, and the current, Ishida. I'm talking racial purists.

It's not openly discussed and it's not institutionally enforced, but socially enforced. If you followed the Japanese media establishment for a while you'll notice they will ignore or belittle foreigners as much as they can.

To be fair, the guys at Trash Taste often discuss and share anecdotes of social discrimination towards non-Japanese. With that said however, Hasan wanting to move to Japan to ”escape” from the US is downright hypocritical and hilarious at the same time.

Weebs are deluded into thinking that Japan is just like their favorite slice of life anime.

Trash Taste are foreigners in Japan (I think one is a haafa, the Aussie) so it makes sense for them to talk about what they do. I also don't follow them on the X and I don't care about their politics, they're not a political channel just "expats in Japan who love anime bullshit".

Just for the record, Trash Taste had also received a lot of backlash during their "America tour" for collaborating with Pokimane. They received some backlash for inviting Hasan the first time, but as others have said, I just don't believe they didn't have any idea what Hasan was up to, or how controversial he had gotten.

Nux has been to Israel more than Hasan has been to Gaza. Nux also has had at least one family member die due to the October 7 attack. Say what you want about him (and there's lots to criticize him for), but he has some of the best reasons for being pissed who do what Hasan does, while looking like he's being actively protected by the platform he's on...which leads to the conclusion the reason is because Twitch believes the same as he does. One of the requirements for Trash Taste guests is that you have to be located in Japan and/or be willing to go to their studio to record to be on the show. The only exception was during the aforementioned America tour, where they had interviewed people like ProZD, Ludwig, Pokimane, and MoistCritikal. Hasan was in Japan both times to record.
