Hasan Piker / HasanAbi - Young Turk, Twitch Streamer, Stunlocked Brogressive, Cenk's Nephew, only a socialist for the money

With all this "Eat The Rich" thing going on you could tell them to actually go through and serve Hasan on a silver platter.
But I'm afraid his fanbase make take it as a challenge.

GTA Speedrunner DarkViper made a 14-page long document calling out reaction channels. Hasan, Pokimane and XQC are named directly.

The doc has generated some controversy due to some inflammatory phrasing. Mainly equating reaction channels as sexual predators who "consider your silence consent". Despite raising many good points its rhetoric has given ammo to the reaction simps which led king fence sitter himself Charlie to step in and, in the court of public opinion, win the battle.

Hasan getting completely blown out for his smooth brain take on reaction content. Meanwhile, his communist children still defend their cockroach king. I know simping can get intense, but I'm shocked his Porsche vanity video didn't kill his credibility. Guess following him and his 14 hour streams requires some advanced brain rot.
Not surprised that his pathetic followers defend him being a complete hypocrite.

I can’t wait for Content ID Twitch Edition™. The seething from all the lazy streamers who get auto banned will be amazing.

Personally I’m against content ID cause with it you have cowards like Vaush who refuse to show what they are ranting about because he wants to keep the sheckles rolling in.

But yeah I agree it will be great when people can’t just stream episodes of Kitchen Nightmares and barely react.

Hasan does the same thing even without the lack of videos, he plays the video up to where he wants and stops it to describe what happened in his pov, because he probably knows if he lets it keep playing he can't strawman it hard enough.

I'm kinda tempted to make a bot that just runs a randomized looping face cam, that goes live and restreams his live streams with like a minute delay. Want to see his reaction to something like that, would he all of a sudden start demanding people "react harder"
Don't forget to have it show an empty chair for 15 minutes every few hours for the true and honest experience.

I am actually super happy Jay is dredging up this big controversy on Twitch reaction streamers.

Twitch streamers have been getting away with shitty reaction content for fucking ages. Which is surprising because literally everyone was dunking on react channels on Youtube a few years back. Even some pretty likable Twitch streamers have been doing it. Why is it any different if you're doing it on a stream versus a video?

It's simple. If you're not being transformative, look for permission. Do your due diligence and shout out the people who provided you with the content (link them in the chat box), and respect a creator's wishes if you're not being transformative. Look for permission BEFORE, not after.

If your only justification is "it's too hard", then you should honestly just delete your fucking channel. Part of your job is using content responsibly and fairly. If you won't or can't do that, then you do not fulfill the basic expectations for your job and should seek a job where you are able to fulfill the basic expectations.

I wouldnt call it a twitch problem. React content is all over youtube. As much as people bitch about it, there is a market. And its not transformitive if you only react to half the episode or make the screen transparent. And jay exci and his efap friends do the same thing by reacting to videos of opinions they disagree with. Then there are people that read articles on their videos. How is that not taking away clicks from a website?

Though hasan is the worst of it since he leaves and doesnt paise the video.

People are gonna draw the line on what type of react content is distinct enough at different points, but Hasan obviously falls very far on the "not fair use" end of the spectrum.

I hate to defend efap of all things, but there is a difference. React video generally refers to someone just watching content and, well, reacting. Usually by looking overly dramatized and being shocked/horrified/amused by the video, then they say a few sentences at the end before going into the like/subscribe spiel.

Efap is actively engaging and responding to the video. It isn't just playing in the background while they make faces. They're frequently pausing the video to discuss what is being said and not just letting it play in its entirety. They also always credit the video and include a link to the original. If you just wanted to watch the original content, it'd be almost impossible on efap because a 15 minute video is basically stretched over 4 or 5 hours with constant breaks and interrupts. In comparison, you could throw on a Hasan stream and experience a full video as if you were just watching it on YouTube, without any credits to the original channel.

I agree it isn't purely a Twtich problem. React videos definitely originated on YouTube, probably before Twitch was even a thing.

Twitch would fold overnight 😪

Hate to be that guy but the vast majority of streamers just aren't talented enough to keep there audience entertained for 8 hours a day without either playing a game or watching something.

This is why I don't think Twitch will last in the long run. The second they can't watch videos or play games none of them will know what to do. 95% of them aren't creating orignal content. It's all just personality cults.

Doesn't help that he bans people that disagrees with him.
That reminds me, he reacted to jcs' video on clifford burn's interrogation and he's so fucking hung up about the cracker thing because cliff says some racial slur and the cop not shooting him.

I await the day YouTube makes a paywall for making a comment like this.

That’s why I don’t think Twitch should bother signing contracts with their top streamers. As the Mixer situation showed, when a top streamer leaves, most of their fans don’t follow and instead watch similar streamers that are still on the platform. Same thing has happened with the streamers who moved to YouTube and Facebook: their viewers mostly stayed on Twitch, YouTube streamers end up getting some of their subscribers from their highlight channel to watch their streams, and no one watches Facebook streamers.

Twitch can die for all I care, it's just another sanitized shithole where fun goes to die.

This isn't a phenomenon exclusive to streamers. Reminder that Oprah thought all her audience would follow her to her new channel when she stopped making her show. What actually happened? They watched Ellen instead. People really overestimate how actively engaged their fanbases are.
