Connor seems the most supportive of leftist politics of the three, as I've mentioned before, he's commented about shit like income inequality on the Trash Taste subreddit (lmao), not accounting for the fact he's been friends with Hasan for years. I don't know about Garnt, but Joey seems apathetic to politics. Two of the three are Asian (Joey/Garnt) and two of the three are British (Connor/Garnt). You should expect some of their politics to be cooked.

Joey's first language was Japanese, he went to school on the weekends to learn Japanese with his sister, his full-Japanese mother helped him learn Japanese, said Japanese mother's maiden name, Suzuki (鈴木) is the second most common surname in Japan, he grew up around the culture, he understands the language at a native proficiency (and at the very minimum has the JLPT N1 qualification, which is accepted as a standard for language proficiency by the Japanese government), and he has lived in Japan since 2016, which was several years before TT started. He's as Japanese as it gets by every criteria that matters, and I don't understand the arbitrary line for what the hell "real Japanese" is.

I've seen at least some people in Japan would consider people who are ethnically completely Japanese but raised in a country that isn't Japan as "not Japanese." I've seen people suggest that people who were in Japan who were born and raised there, and fuck up an unspoken social norm as "not Japanese".

The standards for "real Japanese" are beyond fucked.

JLPT is for foreigners. I can pass the N1 with some test prep and my Japanese is garbage (I literally cannot hold a conversation in it). Joey has passed the Kanken 2, which is something only 20% of Japanese natives who take the test manage to pass. He hasn't passed the Kanken 1, but then again only 3 non-Japanese natives have ever passed that test, two Americans and one Russian.

Joey is legit good enough at Japanese that he can flex his superior Japanese knowledge at Japanese natives.

He's from Australia, so him having the JLPT results isn't surprising, since he also worked at a Japanese company as an intern for a period of time. It is true he got a 2 on the Kanken and it is really fucking difficult for people to get a 1. Point of the matter is that the idea he doesn't speak or understand Japanese is just completely false. People who have met him have said he knows it better than people who have lived in Japan their whole lives, and he speaks it in addition to native-level English.

Few people can actually claim to have native fluency in two different languages from each other (unless they're relatively close to each other, like Spanish and English, or English and French), because one is usually noticeably worse than the other, but Joey can.

I'm still expecting Hasan to snake on him, but I don't think he has (yet) because Joey is still bigger than him on Youtube, and he has the anime fandom on his side, which is worse than anything Hasan's cancerous community can bring on him.

western asian, western asian have their own weird culture, but she is not Japanese and I just find it super weird when people move to a different country and go, I only want to be with people from my own cultural group. It happens in the west so I just don't get why you would move. I like the culture so I moved I know a lot of people stay in a foreign bubble. Also you get a lot of Japanese who like foreign stuff and are attracted to foreigners and so only want to talk about that, while the foreign person will like Japan and so they are cross process.

Yeah sadly TT is not going to take a hit from this. They have a loyal following. Even after a "big controversy" (example: one of them being outed as a pedo) they'd still earn upwards of $30,000. Their socialblade page doesn't show any dip either. They are probably taking this as a win, since the controversy means a few more people are aware of their podcast and those who side Hasan will join in.
