Have you guys ever had to block someone due to their idiotic side?

Some new girl got into my group of online friends. She was a good artist but she was obsessed with drawing smut of her OCs (all gay twinks) and would go off on anyone who didn't like it. Personally I didn't care one way or the other, but after she got into a fight with one of my other friends and threw a massive bitch fit I and the rest of my friends all blocked her.

Is the icon from your avatar one of her artwork or just some art to be reminded of her.

Nah blocking is for pussies. I just ignore them.

Yeah, after all while purposely ignoring them gives you special powers that their autism literally unfazes you.

Same here, I do have to admit, sometimes ignoring them makes things worse, on steam I had to block a guy because he would sperg every 5 seconds on my profile, blocked him after 30 minutes and around 80 pages of idiocy from this autistic fuck.

It's a double edged sword, the blocking feature literally makes them go away but they don't go away from the entire community, which is what we usually want, that and them being in the blocking list could end up being a reminder.

I usually don't block people, but I did block a couple people I knew in real life who had mutual friends. The drama was seeping offline and started to not be funny and affect other people. I didn't want to deal with that bullshit, so I took a move that to others seemed like "being mature" but I was just wanting to ignore the whole situation.

Where I come from online blocking weirdos, creepers, and trolls is just part and parcel of being involved with the community. The more visible and public you are, the more you have to weed people out of your online experience. I felt kind of bad at first because blocking people seemed kind of mean, but that was ~15-20 years ago and these days I don't even bat an eye when another name gets added to the pile.

Though I prefer to "soft" block or mute/silence accounts on my end, that way the people who get "blocked" don't get a notification or something on their end that they've been blocked. Sometimes that just causes them to flip out even more and register sockpuppet accounts and crap. Instead, to them you're just really good at ignoring them.
