Having a meltdown over broken VHS tapes

(preamble: I did a forum search for the people in this post, and couldn't find anything. These videos are from many years ago, but might still provide some scientific insight.)

We all have a meltdown about something during our childhood, and having one over a damaged VHS tape is fairly innocuous and inconsequential. That is, unless you decide to film yourself having said meltdown and upload it to youtube for people to make an example of you.

Meet TylerTristar2:
(content advisory: OOOOOOOOOOOHH!!!)
As you can see, his Minority Report tape is the most most MOST damaged tape he owns! If you happen to have heard of TylerTristar2 before, it was probably because of this.

Here is a spirited recreation of his meltdown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EF2Y-0tVA_0
and a YTP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_TYHR9qkoU

User TVBRobotnik/TVBForever made a reaction to TylerTristar2's Minority Report video (which I can't find, but it likely sucks and some of it can be seen in the next video anyway), to which he responded with this:
(content advisory: nostrils)
It was some time after this video that TylerTristar2 burst into flames and was reborn as TylerTristar2IsBack. Not surprisingly, he was still quite an angry fellow:

He was also a member of GoAnimate, which may explain a few things.

Next, meet MrAndrewB1998 having a somewhat more emotional episode over a broken Shrek 2 tape:
(content advisory: :()
He apparently has short term memory loss, but I'll be damned if he isn't a shoo-in for his Junior High drama club.

There is a surprising number of these videos, and I cannot fathom why they exist. Maybe they think one random viewer will send them a replacement VHS? Or is it an experimental type of vlogging? In any case, better ask mom or dad to buy DVDs from now on. Or better yet, don't let your kids upload videos of themselves to youtube at all.

Any of you remember using one of these?

Or you could just download a torrent. The actual VHS tape is probably worth about as much as those 8 track tapes your dad had in the basement.

If I was more autistic, I'd do an David Attenborough monologue because this is about as classic a definition to "Autistic Kid Having A Meltdown" as you can find.

But I'm not so you'll have to use your imaginations.

Bit of a snip and some sticky tape is a rough, yet effective fix for such situations. Shit, just tie it in a knot for fucks sake. The busted tape, not the thumb herpies

I have only a few VHS tapes that I actually value, they have very rare stuff on them that I've been meaning to transfer.
Isnt this kid a bit young to be watching VHS's?

I used all my VHS tapes for target practice, then I burned the remains in a barrel. Did the same for my VCR. And most of my pirated CD collection. Fuck physical media.

......why is that Tylertristar video on a channel called "TheVHSBrony"

Only an asspie could be obsessed with an tacky obsolete low-resolution media that has to be rewound for half the time it takes to play.
Seriously the death of VHS was only topped by the death of Flash.
Now we wait for DVDs to die.
