She's not the "first trans" anything. So I stand corrected. But nevertheless, given that Maddie Blaustein was Meowth and that Casey had a lead role in TOME, Julie is neither "THE FIRST TRANS VOICE ACTOR IN A LEAD ROLE EVER!" or the first trans voice actor to have a lead role in an original production (as in, a show that isn't a dub or something like that).
I do think so, which is why it's weird to me that they went with 'Meowth isn't a lead', rather than 'Meowth isn't trans'here's the question (and i legit dont know the answer and am too lazy to look atm): is Julie the first trans actor/actress playing a lead character who is ALSO trans?
No. The Midnight Animals (mentioned several times earlier in this thread) has a full cast of trans and drag queen voice actresses playing trans and drag queen characters. Hayden's been told about this and apparently won't acknowledge it.here's the question (and i legit dont know the answer and am too lazy to look atm): is Julie the first trans actor/actress playing a lead character who is ALSO trans?
See that, Hayden and Julie? Let's see you try and spin this.Just to give y'all a face and a name:

This is Bubreena, a trans woman who has been on television since 2011, and the First Ever Trans Voice Actress To Voice A Trans Character In A Lead Role. She voiced Pampeena (center), the trans girl main character of The Midnight Animal, in 2013. She has more success in one finger than the entirety of Gen Zed.
Just like with Susan Boyle, he recycles the "too ugly to be molested" joke multiple times.
If Gen Zed ever airs, we're probably gonna hear the Pez dispenser joke at least twice.
See that, Hayden and Julie? Let's see you try and spin this.
Yeah, I saw it mentioned but couldn't tell if it was just trans lead characters or ones also played by trans people. Thanks for the clarification.No. The Midnight Animals (mentioned several times earlier in this thread) has a full cast of trans and drag queen voice actresses playing trans and drag queen characters. No reason to tell them(but feel free) since we know they're reading this thread. They'll ignore and block posts that tell them this. I do recommend telling them, since it'll rustle their jimmies, and enough comments might force them to further fuck themselves over by speaking.
They typically won't respond to us on their own though; they're only looking for things that they can spin into harassment. They won't comment unless directly called out in the wider public, ie tumblr/twitter.No reason to tell them(but feel free) since we know they're reading this thread.
Best way to do so would be to spread word as much as possible about The Midnight Animals(from what I've seen, it's not very well known of outside of Japan) while occasionally tagging Gen Zed in the posts. So it's not about trolling Black, but raising awareness about the anime. They can't really claim harrassment about informing people. They typically won't respond to us on their own though; they're only looking for things that they can spin into harassment. I actually had to refrain from making a "skidrow... more like skidmark" joke when I posted that tweet tbh.Is it bad my brain instantly changed Skidrow Studios to Skidmark Studios? Because being willing to host these hack frauds who will crash and burn hard implies your product's worth equating![]()
I don't think that show would be particularly successful on Tumblr either, in all honesty. It was similarly gimmicky and low-budget, and relied on a very mainstream Japanese idea of the trans community - that is, it being one and the same with the drag community, which Tumblr users loathe. It also had poor ratings over in Japan and got cancelled after its first season. But that it was produced and got on a major network at all still ranks it higher than Gen Zed.Best way to do so would be to spread word as much as possible about The Midnight Animals(from what I've seen, it's not very well known of outside of Japan) while occasionally tagging Gen Zed in the posts. Well they can, but they'll just look more foolish.
Was it canceled for lack of viewership, or offensiveness?I don't think that show would be particularly successful on Tumblr either, in all honesty. I've come across something rather suspicious.
Well, I was browsing the Gen Zed site, minding my own business when I noticed this shirt:
http://www.redbubble.com/people/genzed/works/15405256-genusual-suspects?grid_pos=1&p=t-shirt
Had over 81 reviews... Pretty suspicious. So I started digging. Not only are they basically all 5 stars they are all extremely generic like this (incoming big file).

Now, nothing really seemed too bed here until I found this.

Dark Knight? What does that have to do with Gen Zed? Gen Zed has absolutely no Batman shirts to speak of. Then I found two more non sequitor shirt reviews.

Space Wolves? Cookie Monster? Also none to be seen in the Gen Zed merchandise.
My conclusion? Gen Zed is jacking reviews and uploading them as their own from Red Bubble. Classy.
