the sort of thing like where Bojack Horseman hates himself and knows he causes all his own problems but continues being a lolcow anyway.
ironic, considering Bojack is one of Viv's favorite shows, and she drew fanart:

The irony is that, in Viv's attempts to make his relationship unproblematic, they kinda made Stolas obcessed with Blitzo to a clearly unhealthy degree. Next episode will definitely be more Stolitz drama where Stolas will do nothing but think about that dick again.
Given the next episode is titled "Full Moon" it's pretty much guaranteed to be more about their drama,

It is true that Stella was always portrayed as a cold mother. It's why it was Stolas who went to comfort Octavia after a nightmare. She literally begged off that duty and sent Stolas instead.

I would have liked to have seen that Stolas more, the one who would comfort a child after a nightmare.

Loo Loo Land was obviously about that side of Stolas coming back to him. There's a reason why that episode begins and ends with him comforting Octavia, but everything in between has him ignoring Octavia's blatant discomfort with coming back to Loo Loo Land especially with Blitzo tagging along, treating the entire feel good trip with his daughter more like a date with the person who's one of the reasons she's so damn miserable. The episode was Stolas realizing "Oh shit, I need to pay more attention to Octavia.".

But then Seeing Stars came around and had Stolas make the same damn mistake, only even worse.

For all Stolas knew, his daughter could be in danger, sure she should be able to handle some run of the mill criminals just fine, especially with the Grimoire, but what if DHORKS was on her heels or some other Demon hunting group who saw through the whole 'cosplay' explanation? If this turned out to be the case and Octavia was in real trouble, that would mean Stolas was spending more time dicking around pretending to be an actor with Blitzo than during to save his daughter from a life-or-death situation.

If I were to rewrite Seeing Stars, my number one change would be either to have Stolas stay in full dad mode and solely focus on locating Octavia for the entire episode, pushing aside any distractions along the way and even ordering I.M.P. to split up so they could cover more ground to show that he really has taken the lesson he learnt at Loo Loo Land to heart, or have Octavia find out that her dad fucked around with Blitzo longer than he was actually hunting for her, and delivering him the most scathing 'fuck you dad' speech imaginable and deciding to fully cut ties with her father after they get back to Hell.

And that's sort of my point. We saw an actually likeable and sympathetic Stolas in S1E2 and then haven't seen it since.

I finally watched the last couple episodes because the series has been pissing me off to the point I more dread than look forward to episodes.

Blitz is actually pretty likeable. He puts up with immense amounts of shit from Loona, who he obviously cares about, he regrets failing his friends, like Fizzy, and even Stolas. And as we saw in the D.H.O.R.K.S episode, he even knows he's mistreated employees like Moxxie.

This could actually be a good plot turn. The Helluva Boss is secretly a Helluva nice guy.

This is why it makes no sense for Stella to always been this bad from the beginning. Season 1 contradicts completely what the narrative is trying to push now. If Stella absolutely despised Stolas even back then, why would they be sleeping in the same bed together at the start of S1 Ep 2? I'm sure there's other bedrooms in the castle so they could be separate from one another while they sleep. She even refers to that bed being "our's" when she finds Stolas has been fucking Blitzø there (again). Why didn't she just call it her bed if we're supposed to believe she has no interest in keeping this....whatever sort of relationship they have between them?

I'm not saying she has to be this perfect angel. She obviously not. But you can't blame people for thinking this whole situation was more gray than it being this black-and-white with what we got now. Even Octavia is not really mad at Stella. She's soley mad at Stolas for ruining her home life. (Though, I'm sure that will change since Stella and Octavia haven't even interacted with one another.)

I also find it quite funny that the only positive moments we get between Stolas and Octavia is when she is a little kid. And from the way Stolas brought up Loo Loo Land like it was Octavia's favorite place to go, even though it hasn't been since she was five, it appears like their relationship drifted apart when she was that young. Which really makes Stolas an even more shitty dad than he already is.

I think we're trying to make a bit too much sense out of this (now) fanfic of a story.
Allegedly Beelzebub is supposed to sense the "vibes" of others. Why did it take Blitzo's actions to warrant a confrontation between her and Loona, and not when the latter called that poodle hellhound a bitch earlier?

She really admitted this with pride. Note the “well delivered.”

Average helluva episode:

Would you say that subgenre started with Homestuck back in 2012? Or does it go deeper than that, like with say, Yume Nikki?
I think Homestuck is the source of the cancer yes
Homestuck was 2009 and it wasn't really "dark whimsy" in it's appearance, more "aping early point and click comedy game styles and logic structures" till it started to decay after post clickbait article hype popularity boom and the milking that followed.
It definitely was dude Undertale/deltarune was directly inspired by Homestuck and vivziepop herself was a Homestuck fan

I think discussion around Stolas being a bad father has overlooked something, which is that Octavia is royalty too. His daughter is in the same aristocratic viper pit that he was born into: High society that hard requires induction and training into their norms to function within, where literally everything about you from the way you walk to how you drink from a glass is scrutinized, y'know that kind of thing.

Octavia does not look like she's gotten any of this. She is a kinda sheltered average teenager, and that means she is 110% screwed. Unless there is a latent prodigious skill for interpersonal and political Machiavelli grade bullshitting in her, Octavia is just another piece on the board for the Goetia family (assuming they act like any successful aristocrats would but this is Helluva Boss), because while her parents might've forgotten she exists I'd bet money the family business damn well hasn't.

Stolas, who purportedly loves his daughter "more than anything", has actually fucked around for over a decade and done nothing since she was 5 based on what we've seen. Unless we are shown something to prove otherwise, he has, through incompetence and neglect, setup Octavia to get married off as part of some Goetia political machination. Just like he was. Only worse, because Octavia doesn't seem to have any skills that will help her when it happens.

Remind me again, I'm supposed to like Stolas as a character, right?

Octavia's personality makes no sense other than Vivzie wanting to make an emo/goth girl with daddy issues because she knows it it's popular. She literally has no friends because Vivzie cant explain Octavia hanging out with punks goths or royalty.

People forget but season 1 stolas was kinda classissist and called others commoners but Octavia for some reason didnt get any of Stolas or Stella's narcissim. Even if she wasnt spoiled growing up, she should at least see Loona as a lesser being but nope, she hugs this stranger.

What i mean is that it doesnt matter if Stolas never teached her anything or if she should realistically be forced into a marriage like he was, Octavia only exists to be sad/angry once per season so Viv can make another yaoi drama episode.

But yes, this lack of care toward world building means Stolas is still a shit father even if Viv ignoring the +10 years he didnt care.

Always a joy to see people clowning on her, not just because almost all of the time it's completely accurate but we also know how well she handles this stuff and leads to much entertainment and laughter
The funny thing is that the “X if made by VivziePop” thing is just blatant shitposting, but like all other lolcows that have extreme difficulty with handling criticism, she’ll lump in the shitposting with serious critiques of her shows.
