This isnt nearly as dynamic as her old stuff, you can tell she hasn't been practicing animating as much because shes too busy doing stuff shes bad at like writing and running a business
Well, yeah she's stated that in the interview. It's a shame, it was clearly her strongest trait.

So apparently, Hot Topic collabed with Viv to sell Hazbin merch and the HT subscribers are losing their minds.

Don't know about you, but I'm laughing more the Hazbin haters in the comments than the deal itself. Though I have to question, if you're an "alternative lifestyle" brand, why are you collabing with an Amazon show. "Heaven Bad, Hell Good" hasn't been subversive since a hundred years ago. But anyways.

Despite Viv's flaws It's always saddening to see an artist become out of practice with the art form that got them popular in the first place.

To be fair, Vivzie's work literally fits the type of demographics that Hot Topic sells too which is nerdy emo/goth teenagers.

Because her art became "corporatized". It lost the flow that made it hit so much to older fans of hers, and while that punch is still there, it feels a lot more sterilized and clean. For most people, it's not really an issue, but for people or fans who've known her older art style, it's a bit of a shame some of those aspects had to be cleaned out for the sake of the industry. It's an understandable change and I'm not entirely against it, but I hate when people think "industry standard" art is just perfect lines and cleanliness. That's what made the official Hazbin Hotel series feel so... limiting to me. It doesn't strike that punch the pilot had. Art styles change overtime, yes, but she could've found a way to use that punch effectively even in her more updated art style.

This review Helluva Boss is a rambling bore that constantly repeats thoughts and points over and over again and his monotone voice certainly doesn't help. If you wanna listen to it, put it at 1.5x, but even then I wouldn't suggest watching the whole thing at all if you don't wanna fall asleep.
However, he does bring up one good point and I think it's gonna be a fairly accurate prediction (The video above links towards the timestamp where he says it, and again speed the video up). He predicts that the show will go down the same path of Rick and Morty and the Loud House in terms of their general reputation. As in both R&M and TLH were initially praised by general audiences, but over time, because of declining writing, the creators being exposed as degenerates, and awful fandoms, they received such negative reputations that people started saying they were never good in the first place.

I think that this will absolutely happen to Viv's works. Except probably even quicker and will have a worse reputation than either show. At least TLH and R&M were at least initially widely praised during its "peak" years and the backlash only started as it went on. With HH and HB, those have been divisive shows since the start. And with HB's decline starting at Season 2, the leaks for Hazbin and Helluva sounding like garbage, Viv and pals showing time and again that they barely improve, Spindlehorse' workplace conditions slowly getting exposed, the merch getting more desperate, and the fandom getting more and more feral. Vivienne's dream shows will crumble harder than the hotel in the season 1 finale, and this time there won't be a Lucifer and friends to help her rebuild it (cause who tf is gonna wanna work with her after the Millie suicide episode airs).

I literally just started watching the show because a friend of mine did and recommended it to me and the one character I liked is killing herself.
:lossmanjack:

Are these accurate? I couldn't find the leaks in the thread.
Here is the leak, it's for the next episode "Ghostfuckers":

Now technically, it's ambiguous if Millie is actually having suicidal thoughts here or is just being controlled by the ghost to jump off, but I'm going with the former interpretation of the leak as it clearly focuses on Millie's feelings of being an "inadequate dumb wife" to Moxxie. Either way, I'm anticipating the backlash to this scene to be the biggest the show ever faces.

I'm going to quit while I'm ahead then, I liked the one and a half HB episode I watched at least. The premise of demon hitmen who go to Earth is so cool but is seems like it's abandoned halfway through if what I read here is correct.

That scene probably a fake-out and she doesn't really kill herself but the fact that she can be convinced to do so solely on the fact that she is not a good wife is hillarious to me, especially when she seems to be the entire opposite of that.

I also like how the relationship with Blitzo and his ex is way more interesting from the get go than with the owl guy because you are immediately thinking "How did these two get into a relationship?", "How did this guy managed to get a girl that was clearly out of his league?".

Off topic, but I remember that Rick & Morty had Dan Harmon being a degenerate prick being safe edgy and then degenerate edgy; but what about Chris Savino? I thought it had something about him having CSAM on his hard drive or something like that.

As much as I don't really care about Millie and Moxxie's romance (don't take my opinion seriously - I don't watch the show, just snippets), there's the positive side of "Well, even in Hell, there's room for a couple to be... happy I guess?" - at least that's the reading I did it. I wanted Millie and that one eyed prick that stabbed ChadAdam, yes I know she's from Hazbin Hotel, but I don't like her to go down fighting if anything. Raise the stakes in terms of "oh shit, our enemies are actually getting good, they are training their assassins and we are getting cocky, we lost someone because of that!!!". A suicide like that sounds like "Meh I'm giving up on life lol what happens if someone suicides anyway???"

I just rewatched “Apology Tour” with my friends because they hadn’t seen it yet.

Holy fuck, it was worse than I remembered, especially that fucking song. I know it’s been said countless times here already, but please, bring back the original premise. I am in no way opposed to character development, but this yaoi shit just isn’t the way to do it.
I still don't understand the obsession with "shipping" young people have these days. Especially in recent years this fad just keeps on going will it ever decrease in popularity.

Maybe it's because young adults are increasingly becoming too immature to date or get married or get laid, so they latch onto shipping fictional characters to fill the void.

It's also why many of them have such a poor understanding of how romantic relationships even work.

So basically an even more degenerate way of having a plummeting birth rate like Japan.

I know it's not something you're supposed to think about, but I still think it's funny. But yes, it's obvious that Viv hasn't honed on her art/animation in a long while. But I can't be too hard on her for that since she's busy being a showrunner/director and writer for her two shows. It's still sad to think about since she was good at animating and her art style was dynamic.

Honestly, the reason why Lust and Gluttony are portrayed as the "good" Sins is because of the way our modern society is. We live in a time of "sexual freedom" and "body positivity", so to criticize such things would be considered in poor taste. It's fine if you countless amount of sex with whoever you want. It's fine if you whatever and however much you want. If it makes you happy and it doesn't hurt anyone, it's okay (even though, one can argue it can hurt others, just not in a direct way).

I mentioned here but this is probably why Mammon is the only truly antagonistic and "evil" sin.

"Greed" nowadays is too associated with the oh-so-evil capitalism and controversal billionaires so Vivzie doesnt trust herself to write a "likable" representation of greed. Note how Mammon is the only intentionally "ugly" sin cause vivzie knows fans would give him a pass if he was hot.

I still don't understand the obsession with "shipping" young people have these days. Especially in recent years this fad just keeps on going will it ever decrease in popularity.

Shipping was always popular and many shows targeted shippers (and still do) as a secondary demographic with side relationship drama, queerbaiting, etc. But shipping culture was kinda like nerd and gamer culture, it was more of a self contained within specific forums. Like, you could watch Avatar casually and never finding out the horrible ship wars that cartoon had.

But NOW everyone is terminally online so people made their entirely public personality around a ship, which in turn leads to a show's reputation being defined by shippers with then leads to creators seeing shippers as the main demographic and taking over everything.

Oh they already think Mammon is hot. Either Vivzie just subconsciously still wrote him to be hot despite intending on him to be ugly or fans just didn't want to buy the "fat guy is ugly" shit and made him hot in fanarts.
A lot of ugly characters are given the tumblr sexyman treatment, if they have enough of a quirky personality, anything happens.

If they're boring no one gives a shit, since I don't think the fans romanticize Moxxie's generic mob boss dad.
