He clearly loves and cares about his daughter
And yet he still sodomizes Blitzo which makes family situation worse and worse which affects negative for his daughter
he was clearly forced into an arranged marriage he’s been unhappy with…
Doesn't matter, he has a daughter. And as we see, desire for the buttfuck is stronger that his alleged love for his child
It has nothing to do with his sexuality.
Well, the fact that he is a faggot makes his behavior described above more realistic/authentic to the real world. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It’s because we’ve seen his past and know enough about his character that we can empathize with him.
We know that he is a person who cannot overpower his sexual desires even for well being of his own kid
“lol hes gay so he’s innocent”
Him being a faggot is the only reason why described above is seen as sympathetic, and not pathetic for the many ( especially twitter crowd ). Don't even try pretending that it's not a thing

Right, because parents who are miserable together staying together would totally make things be happier in the family and fix all the problems.

I don’t know why, but you really seem to be taking the thing personally for some reason.

Ladies calm down, your both pretty.

Can't we just say that he is a flawed character in a shitty situation who is handling it poorly??

Are there any news about Hazbin Hotel? I don't care about the asshole owl and Moxxi is fine, but I really want to know what they have planned for Alastor and Mr. Sex Spider. Hopefully not trooning him out.
Viv teased this recently:

There's also now an official Hazbin account, though it has no tweets yet.

I'm interested to see what direction they take Stolas in from here. I actually concur with the comments saying he thoughtlessly destroyed his relationship with his wife and daughter. And I think the scene at the end of the latest episode is him essentially realizing that he's really been backed into a corner. The way he burnt the bridge with his wife could be justified, hypothetically, but we just don't know much about her character beyond her (understandable) rage at her husband for his antics.

Blitzo admitting he feels used as a sex object and basically telling Stolas to fuck off is a great scene because, from Blitzo's perspective, he has every right to feel that way. The episode even set it up like Blitzo was doing something manipulative, but is it any different than Stolas hiring IMP as his bodyguards just so he could spend time hitting on Blitzo, something that openly makes the dude feel uncomfortable? Stolas realizes here that Blitzo is basically his best chance for a meaningful relationship at the moment, but because he's been such a manwhore Blitzo wants nothing to do with him.

Its pretty rare that you see the person being cheated with get hurt just as badly by the cheater as the person being cheated on. I really hope they don't try to patch things up all in the next episode; Stolas legitimately needs to get his head out of his ass and that should take some time to happen. As vicious as it was, he totally deserved getting reamed out by Asmodeus too. Whether or not he learned any humility from it remains to be seen.

I dunno why yall suddenly getting mad that people born and raised in literal Hell do not abide by Christian norms.
Honestly, I prefer Helluva over Hazbin because I wasn't super invested in Charlie's Disney shenanigans but I'm vaguely interested how they gonna resolve all that emotional drama.
I just wanted a South Park kinda comedy about unapologetically fucked up unsympathetic weirdos but this is fine, I guess.

I assume some of it is personal bad experiences with divorces and such.

I’m not gonna try and claim Stolas hasn’t done some shitty things, but there’s a weird vitriol to some of the hate he gets. Not all, just a few notable examples.

I didn't like it as much.

I don't know, it's too in-your-face with character development and feelies. Hellova has always had a comedic tone and this episode just takes itself super serious and it just comes off as corny, like this is a Tumblr user's fanfic of what happens behind the scenes and speculation on the thoughts and feelings of characters.

It starts off super cheesy, how Blitzo is super creepy stalkerish, which was played of as comedic before, in this one it's just exaggerated and seems out of character. Oh and they justify it at the end with a sad music/crying scene? That scene is so out of place and doesn't fit the tone of the episode/series.

Moxy/Millie's "true love" *gag* angle doesn't really fit the tone of the show either. Sure, it's cute in small bursts, but it shouldn't be in the spotlight at all. Not to mention it is the most cliche thing about this show, and the most boring thing. It really feels like a Hollywood executive came in and said "this show has no love story! Shoehorn in a love story", and I know it's not the case. The musical goes on way too long and it's yet another love song. Is this a romcom musical? I know Tumblr folk crave true love *gag*, but really 'love iss the most important thing'/'love triumphs over all' trope is overdone/cheesy/full of shit and has no place in here.

Now let's go to Stolas/Blitzo. I seriously don't believe these characters are in love*gag*. The relationship was first introduced as "i fuck you, you use my book" and it really has no reason to be something else. Kinda contradicts the Moxy/Molly's true love *gag* if all you need for love is to take it in the ass. It's also inconsistent. They go from one episode to the other from being compassionate and endearing to cold shoulder and just an exchange.

Seriously, the love stories in this show are the most boring/cliche/shallow thing there is. When you have a world in Hell with unique characters, IMP which gives you a great excuse to put your characters in unique situations and meet interesting characters, you have characters with complex backstories that can explore how the society, hierarchy and magic works in this world, and you focus on love*gag*? Really? I said it before and I'll say it again, Hellova Boss, especially the last episode, feels like this show is some Tumblr teen's fanfic about the love stories that go on in the world of Hazbin Hotel...

Yeah, I dunno why so much freaking out about him cheating when it was a very real thing about aristocratic families, not to mention they're in Hell where lust is the way of life, but I guess for Goethia demons status is more important? Not to mention, he never forced Blitzo to do anything he didn't agree to, unlike Blitzo who constantly violates his employees's privacy and takes advantage of other people for his own selfish reasons. And to be clear, I love both of these characters. I don't necessarily ship them but it's interesting how their relationship caused them both to mature so much.

I agree with all of this post actually. I dont mind some romance like Husk/Angel Dust in Hazbin, but clearly the focus is on whatever conflict Charlie and Alastor will enter. I think Viv changed the story once she realized she could squeeze shippers dry. It's partly why I really don't have the same interest on Helluva Boss. And I think trying to say "ohh it's in hell they have no christian moral system!" but celebrating that these demons joyfully love eachother and feel bad in ways a christian moral compass would make you feel (what with the cheating and all), says otherwise. I think it's not consistent either.

Also you can say you like the gay owl and not asspull apologizations about him being a cheating dipshit. No need to cope by blaming it on an aristocratic family, or make up a story about how another Kiwi's dad was unfaithful or some shit. You can like shitty characters too.

In at least one of the live Q and A’s, Viv and Brandon said that Helluva is about relationships at its core. Yes, it’s more comedic than Hazbin, but that’s not the only angle they were going for. As cheesy and gag-worthy as Millie and Moxxie being all lovey-dovey is, I’m pretty sure it’s meant to serve as a foil for how complicated things are between Blitzo and Stolas. An integral part of Blitzo’s character is that he clearly has a desire to be loved, but struggles to show it. Whatever happened in his past has affected him to the point that he pushes people away (Verosika and now Stolas), clings to what he can (Loona) and tries to insert himself into what he sees as an ideal relationship (Millie and Moxxie).

I do still look back on the pilot episode of Helluva Boss and wish we got the more mean-spirited blood soaked comedy about demons murdering innocent people that it appeared to be on its surface. I say this though fully aware that I'm one of probably only a handful of people who would actually watch it. I also sense that there was perhaps a more drawn out plot to this show initially, where all of these character interactions we see in nearly every episode were instead broken up by a lot of regular assassinations, but those got cut out and the show compressed to fit into a shorter timetable.

As far as the demons not fitting into Christian morality or whatever, that's kind of the point of Hell, particularly in this interpretation. Some interpretations of Hell go as far as stating that there is no torture in Hell at all except what you make for yourself and others through your own sins. This is why the scene between Asmodeus and Stolas works so well, because Stolas does feel shame and remorse for how he's acted, and clearly wants more than just to give into his hedonistic desires all the time. And Asmodeus rubs it in, causing him quite a bit of pain without actually having to do anything aggressive to him, just pointing out one of his flaws that he's done literally nothing at all to hide, and he's really got nobody but himself to blame for it.

It's what you'd expect from a bunch of sinners; a bunch of petty, self-sabotaging people who are also really easily wounded and too vulnerable to criticism.

Show could still do with some more violence and casual cruelty though.

All of the characters are shitty characters to an extent (the main cast are all assassins for crying out loud). Not to mention that this is hell, where being a shitty person is to be expected.

The disdain for Stolas is confusing for this reason. Yeah, he's doing some shitty things but so is everyone else.

That's a premise most shows are based on, flawed characters and all. I don't see how Helluva Boss is different just because of the premise, none of them are actually that evil, they're just flawed. Also not all shitty things are equal, and killing people has no real value at this point in media. What I'm saying is "don't be exceptional about it".
