A name change and a minor costume redesign?
Well, that's it. It's ruined forever.

Is this even a re-design? It just seems like an alternative outfit on the same character.Today, Charlie Magne had been redesigned and is given a different surname, Morningstar, as seen from this tweet:

Her last name used to be Magne, as in Charlemagne. Morningstar is pretty cliche but at least fits. Also I dunno how I feel about going direct with morningstar I didn't know her last name before but I feel it's a bit too much on the nose, eitherway not a big deal just a strange change.
Oh yeah the red eyes, didn't notice that. Her last name used to be Magne, as in Charlemagne. Morningstar is pretty cliche but at least fits.
Personally, I feel like the redesign has too much red. They could’ve at least kept her pants and eyes black for contrast. Her clothes look a bit too much like Alastor’s now; that is, unless they’re revamping his look too. Though it is funny when you take into account all the critics who complained about the amount of red in the pilot.
I liked the somewhat aggressive use of red.Though it is funny when you take into account all the critics who complained about the amount of red in the pilot.
Its not even a bad thing that the designs have been simplified. One of the major problems I had with the original designs as that there was far too much going on with them.I’m painfully curious how the others look. You know they’ve had to be simplified down.
Seeing them side by side, the new one looks more like a timeskip than a design change. Old Charlie looks childlike and soft (@Weppers doll comparison is right on target) and hopeful. New Charlie looks like she spent time refining her rough edges and hopeful of the future if things keep going her way.Her last name used to be Magne, as in Charlemagne. Morningstar is pretty cliche but at least fits.

Edit: Someone already made one of these.

The only thing I don't like is her last name. "Morningstar" sounds like it belongs to a farmgirl, not hell's crown princess. I hope it's an alias and her real last name can't be spoken like candlejack or else something bad will hap
The name "Lucifer," light-bringer, originally referred to the morning star, specifically, Venus. That's why the past couple of pages have been low-key bitching about that kind of being a super-obvious thing. The original Charlemagne pun was a bit silly itself though.Lucifer was called the 'Morning Star'.
Hey, it's no more obvious than the son of the Devil being named Damian in Zoophobia.....The name "Lucifer," light-bringer, originally referred to the morning star, specifically, Venus. And that has totally never happend before in the relam of western animation (not sure if jap animu has pilots)A name change and a minor costume redesign?

Considering the Bible is nearly 2000 years old, I don't think the devils name is subject to copyright law lol.If they've changed Charlie's last name to Morningstar, did they also change her dad's name to that, and will that cause trouble since there's a TV show called Lucifer and that's the title character's last name on it?
Also DC Multiverse has a Lucifer Morningstar. Also in Neil Gaiman's The Sandman.
Maybe there won't be a problem. Seems common as can be.
I don't think he was specifically called "Lucifer Morningstar" in the bible, and people have done some crazy things in the name of copyright.Considering the Bible is nearly 2000 years old, I don't think the devils name is subject to copyright law lol.
