It's like every character in this show had potential and then instead of that we got whatever this shit is.
My personal idea of Niffty from the pilot was she was probably a serial killer in life much like Alastor except it was from an explosive temper set off by sloppiness.
I'm not so sure about that. She doesn't explode in anger when cleaning the hotel. I always suspected it had something to do with when she unhingedly shouted, "Aren't there any men here?!" in the pilot.
When you think about it from this point of view, Hazbin & Helluva become accidentally based.
The women:
– are, more often than not, completely retarded, either by way of being hopelessly naive airheads operating strictly on emotion (Charlie, Emily) or autistic mastermind wannabes (Sera, Velvette, whatever the fuck Lilith will be doing in Season 2)
– of the mothers shown, one is a deadbeat (Lilith), one is indeterminate (Stella), and the only mother figure with anything approaching sense is Carmilla
– Charlie is time and time again shown to have no real argument against Heaven's sound logic of keeping Sinners in Hell, only managing a small pyrrhic victory by getting Adam to publically reveal the Exterminations, and Pentious only manages to ascend through freak circumstances that cannot be reproduced again
– The "traditional" women that are the Exorcists (Lute & co) display camaraderie, diligence & appreciation for each other; to the point Lute is willing to immediately start another Extermination just to find whoever killed one of them
The gays:
– are all drug-addicted promiscuous murderers (Blitzo, Angel), just promiscuous murderers without the drug part (Asmodeus, who's perfectly fine with threatening all his employees with death), or abusive narcissists (Stolas, Valentino, Vox)
– admittedly, Fizzarolli doesn't fall into those three categories, but he's a weak effeminate bitch anyways
The minorities:
– Vortex, who is disguised as a black guy, gets caught and George Floyd'd by cops (and made to suck dick – Vivienne must know how zesty & downright peculiar some of those bucks can be)
– Barbie Wire, who is disguised as a latina, is involved in the drug business (possible cartel connections?)
– Striker, the one motherfucker actually fighting for Hellborn rights, unironically gets called a "supremacist" by Blitzo, a fellow Imp (typical crabs-in-a-bucket mentality)
Based on this data (and many other examples I probably forgot about), we can safely conclude that Vivienne "VivziePop" Medrano hates women, fags and minorities. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Necroing but i don't get why the fuck would hell need to be an city anyways? It's supposed to be place where people suffer and do whatever they want. Why would under any condition a sinner need a home in a place where nigger can fire a rocket and kill him in it
I had idea of how it could go different way so
What if hell is endless and desolate soil and when you die the sinners become part of it and turn into piece of land themselves lumped with other sinners feeling every step on like it's needles piercing through your foot. The ultimate punishment for dying again is to be one of many souls sandwiched together across the meridian feeling every miniscule step and only thing they could do is scream but no one could hear it other than fellow souls themselves and those higher in power
Maybe overlords can feel or sense those they doomed and hear their voices screaming to save them but they don't care. Alastor simply smiles and goes on with his day. Maybe it makes him feel better knowing those below him suffer from simple step of his feet. It keeps his joy pure and doesn't have to think about being chained to some higher form

But then how would the cute furry boys fuck each other and sing songs about being sad, which as we all know, is the truest and most accurate depiction of hell. What's next, you're going to suggest something crazy like there might be racist people or dictators in hell?
In all seriousness, I don't remember which review pointed it out (or maybe it was someone's post here) but they mentioned how strange it was that during the heaven trip, there are apparently people in heaven who work in a coffee shop. It's a minor background detail in the grand scheme of things, but it is crazy to think that, in eternal paradise, you still have people clocking in for a 9-5 as a barista. The afterlife infrastructure, either in heaven or hell, really makes no sense. If it was just a pure comedy and not trying so hard to be a super serious drama for adults I could forgive it as being a goofy thing you're not supposed to think too much about.
I know it's been said countless times, but the show should either be set in purgatory instead of hell, or just set in a fantasy world with a caste system in place.

You could argue that some Winners just find comfort in having something to do each day, even if it's 9-to-5 wageslavery.
As for Hell, one could make the argument that at a certain point, some Overlords banded together and created the basis of Pentagram City's infrastructure because it's just in human nature to organise; then the Hellborn started copying them in a 'monkey see, monkey do' manner. It would explain why they speak human languages, or have human organisation concepts (Crimson with his mafia gang, for instance). Of course, this is all still me making up excuses for Vivzie's shitty writing, she probably didn't think that far ahead.

^this. If you want to use dramatic elements in any narrative, you have to earn them. Someone has to go to the trouble of fashioning characters deeper than your average rainbow-streaked mud puddle (and that includes giving them names that aren’t farcical), and writing dialog for them that sounds like something a real person might say. If, on the other hand, your intention is to satirize the form and make fun of its tropes and limitations, you lay your cards on the table from the start; you don’t try to tap into drama that you don’t deserve. It’s either 1984 or Brazil — you can’t mix the two. Vivienne has failed to learn that comedy is not a fallback position, something you do when you don’t believe you’re competent enough to sustain the drama.
It's cool, but she really shouldn't be missing her right arm since she didn't cut it off with an angelic weapon; she just ripped it off from under some rubble.
So her arm will eventually come back. Just like Vaggie's wings did.
Unless, Viv just forgets her lore AGAIN, which isn't impossible either.

The fact that demonic concrete was able to injure angels despite being told that only angelic weapons could damage them, shows that Viziepop doesn't believe in consistency.

LoL, I can see it: if Vivienne does nothing with Lilith and she becomes a deadbeat mother for Charlotte, people will make hundreds of excuses on how she's not like Lucifer because she's a womyn.
I didn't know Asmodeus was this violent, and people said the lust ring was the most peaceful. Most peaceful my ass, I hope by Season 4 we see all rings of hell battling against each other in a "Watchers on the Wall"/"Blackwater" style battle where the leaders of each ring kill one another.
Got to say, Not only I've been seeing how the "Arse Geisha" that is Stool's Arse has been properly bashed here, but I wouldn't mind if Blitzo too had been dealt with. Not in a "hahaha, isn't it funny, he's a dipshit, guise!". No, actually make him get shoved in a wall, brain splatter and done. He's an annoyance. Get rid of him.
Actually you can. You just have to do it well. Brazil is actually a lot more like reality than 1984. Dystopia isn't going to come in a color-desaturated world with slate-gray skies like the static on a dead channel, to mix a bunch of things. It will come as a cute bunny rabbit with a silly name.
Vivzie's weird, man. She is so dead set on what she wants rather than what would actually fit for her show. You've all talked about major historical figures like Hitler being absent plenty of times, but I'm still sitting here wondering why all the demons in this show have to look the way they do, and why she seems dismissive of stuff like Doom or other interpretations of Hell besides her own.
From what I remember, sinners look the way they look because of how they died. For example, it's canonical that Alastor has deer-like features because he was mistaken for a deer (whilst he was burying a body mind you lol) and died via a headshot (hence the X mark on his forehead).
Angel Dust canonically died via an overdose, specifically PCP (which is street named Angel Dust, hence his name), but his spider appearance was related to his participation in the mafia (web of crime, I'm assuming).
I should add none of this was brought up or alluded to in the show. It was told in a stream. So it's only "canonically" told by the creator but not canon in the actual show.
Funny enough, these are the only "canonical" reasons behind a sinner's demon look. Everyone else is pure speculation and theories. You'd think there would be a reason behind Sir Pentious' death that led him to hell, especially since he was a Hazbin Hotel resident. Not once did Charlie ask him his sins? How he died? What he did? Nothing. She did none of that, and there are no excuses as to why she couldn't.
Except for the fact that PCP wasn't developed until the 50s and Angel died in the 40s...
BUT, again, anything that was mentioned in livestreams or Twitter posts before the show came out on Amazon should be taken with a grain of salt. This is the show that contradicts itself in the first episode with Charlie with reading a book that mentions that the Exterminations happen because the angels are afraid of Hell getting too poweful...only for Charlie to go back to believing that it was only an overpopulation issue.
