I'd argue stolas is not allowed to have depth either because he somehow devolved into a flanderized fanfic version of himself. "Muh trauma muh sadness" is not depth and i would appreciate tumblrborne writers like vivzie got that. This manchild spent the entire season 2 alternating between wanting blitzo's cock and literally crying about everyone being mean to him. He's one dimensional, his personality is a short slider that starts at blitzo and ends at crying.

Altho in his case it's clearly more out of vivzie being a bad writer and ship panderer that resulted in Stolas being shallow, unlike the female characters where Vivzie actively hates women.

With all the characters Viv likes so much being the perpetual black-and-white, pure victims, I wonder who is Viv's self insert among the Helluva Boss cast? I know she includes her Impsona in the background, but that's besides the point.

It's speculated on the Vivienne thread that Octavia is the self-insert as a way for Viv to project her family issues.

If Via were the self-insert, we'd be seeing more of her and she'd be the one always in the right. But, with the direction of how things are going, I'm confident Via would be the one portrayed as wrong even if she was right to call her father out on being more obsessed with Blitzo than trying to make amends with her and being a responsible individual, even to a degree.

I'm betting it's Blitzo or Stolas.

I think it's best she doesn't do this to Islam. A lot of people, Muslim or not, would react violently to including Islamic stuff in there.

Yes, a lot of the people who work on this show put their "sona" in here. I don't think this one is though. Just someone wanted to make an imp wear a hijab because....diversity or something. We could have a discussion on why hellborn include Earth culture in their daily lives, but I don't think any of the people who work on this show thought deeply on it, so why should I?

True. I mean, Viv's 32, and she had Hazbin around for approximately a decade give or take, so if she made it a kid's show back in her early years, the stipulations and restrictions could've turn her for the better in the long run.

I mainly suggested that pondering for the last part I mentioned due to the constant "point of consideration" for Season 1's pacing being the result of it only having 8 episodes, even though majority of adult cartoons tend to have 13 episodes or less for their first seasons, where as kid shows typically get 20+ish. As I mentioned in the Viv thread, while she didn't clarify who, she was asked if she wanted to use the pilot or remake it. Understandably, she didn't want to sacrifice an episode remaking it, but I don't recall her explaining why she didn't do the former, since I doubt A24 would've deduct an episode from her. Rick and Morty has 11 episodes for Season 1 compared to subsequent seasons' 10 episodes. I presume Smiling Friends got to make the Brazil episode because the pilot didn't count despite being Episode 1. Given A24 didn't have any involvement with the pilot, I'm sure they would've let Viv make 8 new episodes, making Season 1 having 9 episodes, 4 less than the common maximum of episodes first seasons of adult cartoons usually get.

Since it's an imp it's like "oh no see it's a hellborn they were born in hell" alongside shit like "wholesome out of place deaf child demon" but like I haven't seen any other demons with devout religious iconography. I'm guessing the reason they're in hell and not sent to heaven is "lesbian gf" therefore furthering the "only gay people go to hell" thing that's been forming.

This really confirms my theory that these shows are intentionally a pied piper for confused kids. It's all over YouTube, and when it was at its peak on Amazon Prime it was just advertised ALL over the place- with a style that screams "WOW EDGY KIDS CLICK THIS".

Personally know a pre-teen cousin that one day started talking in a weird way... then it dawned on me when I was talking to her that she's trying to talk like Blitz. I talked to her parents about Helluva Boss and they were very dismissive like 'oh she wouldn't watch that'
But she had unrestricted access to YouTube...
One day I straight up said 'Do you like Blitz?' and she then rambled ON and On about Helluva. Her parents didn't seem to care at all.
Now she's barely a teen and she's telling people she's fucking pansexual. Gee where the fuck could she have picked that up?

I tried to give the benefit of the doubt that MAYBE she was digging for edgy stuff for the longest time but then I saw a SHIT TON of merch at Hot Topic. That all looked like tween/teen slop. They know what they're doing.

edit: oh yeah and she told me 'all of her friends' watched it too
