Putting her eggs all in one basket would be foolish, so it's nice to see her managing another project on the side. As long as she doesn't bite off more than she can chew and stays focused, this seems better than sitting and waiting on only Hazbin.
I just find it weird that she’s starting a new project that relies entirely on the first making the next big step, to continue your egg metaphor, she’s counting them eggs before they’ve had the chance to hatch.

It’s it the same universe but completely removed from the story golf the other save for very mild references. So more power to her being able to work on a side thing since the bigger one takes much longer.

It's Hell, isn't it? I mean that's kind of a large territory.

Wouldnt it be hilarious if Netflix or whatever demanded that they either changed the gender of the eyepatch girl into a boy or be very specific that the princess is straight ? All to cater to the gay hating but still very profitable China.

Edit: I found the pilot pretty good actually and I wouldnt mind seeing it at its full potential. Its rough around the edges but Im one of those people that doesnt mind that on a pilot. We are needing new IPs and creators after all.
But please, have more of the Radio Demon, I love that guy, never before I have seen a more sinister and yet enjoyable smile.
The stuff we dont know feel like they will be explained in the actual show like

-How can you tell between a sinner and demon? I assume the former are souls that really were pieces of work in life and were sent down there after their demise (so I assume there is a heaven in this case, I wonder if we would ever see it) and demons are natural born creatures from Hell itself (like the Radio Demon and our protagonist)
-What tecnically happens when a sinner "dies" in Hell? The way it usually goes with these type of stories that if you die in the afterlife, you "fade away" from existence. I doubt they are gonna say there is a super hell. But still, some confirmation would be great.
-Do sinners stay permanently in hell or is there a possibility they could either be reborn or maybe go into heaven? Again, since the whole theme of the show is redemption, they could explore that, especially since the hotel was suggested as an alternative to the genocide to solve overpopulation.
- Are we ever going to see the "mortal" world? I would be okay if we didnt but if we explore the backstory of sinners to see why they are in Hell, feels like some flashbacks set in it will be a necessity.
Now if someone says that the creator has explained those, remember I only has the Pilot itself to go around so...

The radio demon actually used to be a mortal.

From what I understood, the sinners don't die unless killed by an angel. My current hypothesis is they experience a great deal of pain when not-killed with normal weapons, likely being aware during all of it, and eventually heal back to prime health so they can suffer more.

That's the driving question of Hazbin Hotel, innit?

We actually might do, in the spin-off "Helluva Boss".

I liked it overall. Strong for a pilot with no episodes to immediately follow up with. I'd say it's overall better than the Rick & Morty pilot. It seems to be carefully formulated to attract internet autism, looking forward to the sperging about how it attracts the wrong crowd by various jobless cunts online.

Wait they got fucking Zim??
How did they manage that?
heh, when I was watching this I thought to myself, "Hmm, this is Invader Zim in Hell." Hot Topic t-shirts when?

Wow, thanks. I just looked it up some info and yes, turns out thats all correct. Sorry if I came off as clueless.
But man, the radio demon was a serial killer from the 30's it seems, a radio host so his whole gimmick makes sense...aparently he is just that evil. Meh, who cares, he is my favorite character until now (i guess I have a thing for overly polite villains with a thirst for death and torture).
Again, I want to see more and I wish her the best. I undestand some may have some problem but consider nowadays how companies are "woke-fing" all major franchises nowadays...this could lead to a trend of indie creators getting big expore and even resources, you know? It could be the start of something great, which is what entertainment is needing. H.H isnt woke (I mean, its fucking set in hell and SJWs are still trying to boycott it, because thats just what they do, if you exist, they hate you.) and the art style is way better than your family guy clone or cali-art cartoon.

No problem. I enjoy helping people to new franchises.

What exactly is their reasoning that Hazbin Hotel is anti-woke? Is it because most characters are jerks and assholes while also being any sort of LGBTWTFBBQ?

Is there a possible state as "drowsy", and not fully woke? For instance, it would've been good had they just had the two main characters just... be. It was going fine until the newscaster was "I don't touch the gays!". Yet Angel Dust bangs everything and that's just his character. Angel Dust and Vaggie seem to draw a lot of hate because they're stereotypes^3.

Weirdly Elder Scrolls seems to do this okay. Random male NPC, "Have you seen my husband? He's probably out getting drunk." *wanders off*
Not "Have you seen my husband? We're gay and in love! And it's forbidden to be gay and in love in our Dunmer society, how close-minded they are! He's a well-endowed Redguard. Please find him and then teach my village a lesson on tolerance!"

But back to Alastor. His grin reminds me of the master of grins, Chuck Jones, which might be why I like him a lot, aside from the neat effects and backstory. I also like the voodoo veves that manifest around him.

Someone else mentioned this show drawing a lot from Deviantart instead of Tumblr and Calarts and that might actually be the best benchmark for it.

I just saw it and it was decent. I do admire that this was an independent animation which makes me respect it and the writing along with the voice acting is pretty good.

However, my biggest issue with the show is the character designs as the designs feel like they came from a 13 year old goth girl or some tumblrina and this issue mainly applies to some of the main characters like Alastor and Angeldust in particular.

So I'd give it a 7 or 8

I guess I have been exposed to so many Cal-arts and "adult cartoon" generic designs that I think some comparisons are a small price to pay. Besides Alastor is just a smooth evil motherfucker, he steals the show for me. If the writing is good, they could look like stick figures. So we will see.

H.H isnt woke

HH is on the thin line between woke and not woke, the spider is gay and in your face, but the guy is a drug addict whore pornstar in hell, what do you expect? And it seems the show isn't afraid to make some offensive jokes like the newscaster being a total homophobic, I don't find that offensive or that bad but a woke show would never put that line in there.

OTOH Vivzie confirmed a few days ago that the radio demon is asexual, I don't like at all when that is used as an identity, but the guy is an evil serial killer, my opinion will depend on which way they take that, asexual only as an afterthought for rep? BS, asexual as in not interested in sex because he only cares about, killing, torturing and his weird sense of entertainment, that could be a good angle.

It's to early to say how this is going to go, the new spinoff will probably clarify the creator's intentions more.

Stumbled upon this and decided to watch the Pilot. Usually not a fan of adult cartoons, but this was kind of unique IMO and I genuinely enjoyed it. Sad to see that there just HAS to be some autistic drama attached to it. But hopefully something comes out of this project regardless.

Hello there. Recently watched the pilot (a little late to the party, i know) and fucKIN HELL what a clusterfuck this is! The animation is good, don't get me wrong, but the backgrounds and characters design are obnoxious; apparently none of the animators ever sat down to watch a cartoon to notice there's a difference between them. Either you keep the characters simple with complex backgrounds or viceversa. Every character looks like it came from any rando artist in DA that just started using a tablet (i'm not talking about the quality, but the designs) The humor is...somewhere, i guess. Don't know if i actually like Sir Pentious' lines or i'm just too biased because he's voiced by Stamper. Every character except Charlie and the snake guy, sucks. I'm looking forward for Helluva Boss, tho. Seems like it has a simpler plot, without that gross amount of red, overdone backgrounds
