I didn't know you can pin tumblr posts now. Social media sites are really blending together.
what-the-hazbin better chill out with the physical threats, especially if she's familiar with Manny's blogs.

Every single tweet in that thread is filled with replies telling this bitch off. The one with the most replies is (shocker) the one saying money-loving and pointed noses = Jews.

That's barely a nose, what a fucking reach! :story:
At first glance it doesn't even have a fucking nose, lol.

This really shows how these people don’t stand for what they say. They’ll gladly support women and ethnic minorities...but only if they share the same opinions as they do and make the shows they want.

Also ironic that he’s complaining about the R&S reboot when he was simping hard for
Another good example, a NSFW account at that. Funny how they can’t actually name these marginalized creators and instead resort to guilt tripping those who support HH, with a bonus “white passing” thrown in for good measure.
Fuck it has a nose and money, it's clearly a Jew!
It’s disturbing how much they project their own bigoted thoughts on others despite being the woke ones.

There's already the SU Critical thread in the Tumblr forum, though this thread is already 3 times as long.
SU has parts of its fanbase turn against it as it aired, once they decided it wasn’t being “woke” enough. People attacked HH from the get-go.

Im not disagreeing with you, by the way. Just noting the derangement will get even worse once its fully made and airing.

Oh me neither. The vast majority of the target demographic does like this show right now, for what it's worth.

It's really incredible that an obnoxious hatedom managed to form so much quicker than an obnoxious fandom, usually the crazed fringe weirdos build up into a obnoxious fandom BEFORE the hatedom. These people are psychos.

Seeing these ex-Tumblr art community people continuously flip their lids over it a year on ranks among the most blatant “crabs in a bucket” situations in recent memory.

They also link to the exact same tumblr that @anonymousmouse92 mentioned when they posted here.
sorry, I'm late.
So Viv's biggest hater is Nicole the rootbeergoddess? She's a lost cause then.

Edit: yep I checked, that's her.
what she looks like
also her
This is what happens when you're in your 30s and still on tumblr bullying kids over disney shit.

Edit2: She's an old "acquaintance" of mine. Since she won't stop being a cunt here's some fun facts about her:
- she's black or mixed but her adopted parents are white. She's actually privileged af yet keeps whining about racism and how oppressed she is.
- claims to be mentally ill and that's why she can't work. Considering how often she posts on tumblr, she probably still haven't found a job
- had a boyfriend who was a cop. I dunno if they're still together considering the recent drama.
- I don't remember exactly how old she is but she must be around 32-34.
- she doesn't have any talents but she was friends with popular artists which is why she had so many followers. She's basically a professional tumblr leech.
- started a patreon thinking her 10k tumblr followers would actually pay her. She was getting about $5/month.
- remember the artist from Steven Universe fandom who got bullied to suicide? She was involved.

Sorry, I was honestly surprised seeing her pop up here. When I left tumblr years ago I genuinely wished her well because I don't think anybody deserves to be that miserable. But here we are and she hasn't change one bit. I almost feel sorry for her but the fact she's going after a woman younger than her who actually worked her ass off to make something of herself is absolutely sad and pathetic.

I'm late as hell because I was processing what I thought of the pilot for a long time until very recently. While I have shit opinions about the pilot, Hazbin is a perfect project for this very moment as already explained by others. In short, I am very excited about the project not because of the story itself but because of what it could mean.

If you've ever heard stories from colleagues who attended art school, visited an art school, or attended one yourself, you know that the animation path is filled to the brim with the kind of people that would gobble up Hazbin. However, most of them were incapable of creating a portfolio, competent film reel, or completed animation project to pitch to potential employers either from sheer laziness or misguided priorities. Now when you go on social media (mostly Twitter), you can see that the art section of the site is oversaturated with the same people who are literally begging for work, making hollow fanart with a pathetically short shelf-life, or drawing furry PFPs/pornography. I have a nagging feeling that those are the exact people trying to drag this project down, but it can't be.

Hazbin Hotel is a weird ass fucking passion project that doesn't quite look like anything else.

1) It doesn't adhere to the Tumblr style of toe-headed, floating facial features, almond-eyed style
2) It doesn't adhere to the Rebecca Sugar/CalArts style that is taking the cartooning community by storm
3) It doesn't try to look like anime (e.g. High Guardian Spice, Avatar, She-Ra)
4) It doesn't look "ironically bad" (e.g. Allie Brosh, Thundercats Go!)

It's a very "unpopular" style and I believe strongly it's the reason why so many retards are salty over the project succeeding. What it imitates, it imitates with its own flair. You can look at a silhouette of any of the characters and say, "Ugh, it's from that GARBAGE HAZBIN HOTEL SHIT." You could probably be a mile away and say "AAAGH. NOT MORE HAZBIN SHIT. I'M SO TIRED OF IT."

It's unique and it stands out. However, the style lends itself amazingly to animation as a medium despite the heavy use of repeating patterns (which I have a feeling will be altered for the series itself for budgeting and time constraint issues). The Hazbin style is very finely crafted.

No matter how you enjoy or do not enjoy the project, every single artist who doesn't fit into the aforementioned styles should be excited that it was picked up by a studio. It is all the more proof that people truly want something different. You shouldn't be afraid to make your story because you think it's weird or your style isn't quite like what everyone else draws.

JUST DO IT.

@OmnipotentStupidity
Maybe that's the difference, because I don't consider Hazbin an independent animated series. It's not a series, it's a pilot. Virtually anybody who gets a show on any network has an animated pilot now, and usually they have to do all the hard work by themselves or with a small group of people. Hazbin has everything those pilots had, and a budget that's tens of thousands of dollars big. If it gets picked up, it gets picked up, but everybody calling it revolutionary I don't understand, because the main difference between Hazbin and any other pilot is that Hazbin has an insane budget. If other people want to follow its model, they're going to have to hoard tens of thousands to get to that point.
Viv is represented by an agency and has a degree from an established art school and took courses at a second established art school post graduation. She isn't the underdog that worked hard and made it, she's up on a higher level than most of her peers in finance and opportunity both. Just because she had the money to throw around on a bigger circle doesn't make her pilot any more of a big deal than any other pilot, we're just seeing the process in real time. I'm not really invested either way, I just don't understand how it's revolutionary.

The Sam tweet is interesting though because she actually ended up retracting that because some friends of her pointed out that Viv is "not great" as a person. That's part of the reason I'm saying don't hold your breath on the series coming to a network, because if too much of the crowd she would have to work with decide they don't like her, she won't get it. Viv also apparently raised funding specifically for an animated pilot called Allison that she also dropped, even after raising the funding for it. So that's two projects she was securing funding for or getting bigger producers involved in that she hasn't actually delivered on. If it comes to a network, great, but this is why I'm still on the fence.

That's...not at all the point I was trying to make: "independent pilot" doesn't mean that "it doesn't count because she came from an art school, was of a higher level, and was rich as fuck therefore it's not independent": it's independent in that, outside of Viv, virtually everybody who worked on the pilot had no prior experience in the industry, it was made entirely out of pocket. Whether you don't like it because she's a rich girl doesn't change the fact that it wasn't made as a college project nor was it advertised through a publisher beforehand.

Like, Hazbin didn't have a "budget" or any support at all. It just didn't. Most of the "budget" came from whatever the team bought for themselves on their own, like tablets and the programs they used to animate. Whereas usually, pilots are either made using materials given from the college, or (in the case of Cartoonstitute) were refined versions of past pilots made using materials and instruction given to them by the network.

This is all just a bunch of autistic semantics regardless.

Dude, she already got the deal and is working on it right now.

We just talked about this while you were going on your Viv/Star tirade: it doesn't matter whether or not you think she deserves it or not, what matters is it did get picked up and is currently in pre-production (presumably with a reworked staff). Studios don't usually announce something publicly if it's at a point where it's going to fall through. And based on how long Viv was teasing the announcement, this has been a thing for awhile. If she fails now and does what she did: then too bad, A24 owns it and can do whatever they want with it, with or without her.

The person you linked to even reaffirms in the very next tweet that they don't care and like that A24's investing in animation, regardless of the creator. It's akin to getting uppity that Super Meat Boy because the creator was a rich asshole fresh out of college who decided he and his friends would buy the shit they need to make a game, and getting mad that they dropped their old games on Newgrounds because of it. Allison never got picked up because it wasn't what the network was looking for; it sucks that Vivzie left, yeah, but constantly keeping yourself on another project when it's clear your work was finished on it and it's not going anywhere doesn't really help you. You can say it's selfish on her part, that's fair, but in the end: Hazbin did get picked up, so clearly it was the right choice for her in the end, and holding it against the show or her just doesn't really make sense.

Like I can appreciate the sentiment of "fuck Viz" but this seems like you're just bitter, even though you're talking a lot about how much you don't care about it.

found another hater

What a bunch of completely unhinged lunatics. It's amazing Twitter got even worse, but absorbing the hate-filled venom spewing morons who used to be on tumblr did the trick.

There's already the SU Critical thread in the Tumblr forum, though this thread is already 3 times as long.

That's because the SU Critical autists actually seem normal compared to these utterly unhinged severely mentally ill spazmoids.

While some things could be said about Sam King’s diverse voices and “muh white dudes” comment, the other poster is either a racist or an idiot.
Viv isn’t white and made it clear she isn’t multiple times; the fact that you need to be brown to be considered an ethnic minority is profoundly racist itself.

I honestly feel stupid for not connecting Nicole with rootbeergoddess earlier. I’m vaguely familiar with her to an extent; she was often a shit stirrer on social media and she indeed rolled with SU Critical. Last I saw of her personally, she was shit talking Johnny Depp even after his abuse was shown.

Knowing that she’s in her 30s, training to be a teacher and technically a published author yet still does this shit...that’s too pathetic to even laugh at.

Shocker. I’m not sure what you were trying to say here since Sam doesn’t work on HH.
For someone who claims to be “on the fence” and not really caring about the project, you really do seem to harp on it possibly not getting a second episode.
