You just can't write shit like you could back in the 80's and subtle gay undertones are no longer funny as faggots are now pretty much mainstream.

Just enjoy the old cartoon IMHO. Its corny, funny and done in the style of the glorious 80's. No way any Hollywood soy boy writer schooled at Cal-Arts could match it.

And Clerks was a shitty boring movie, don't even get me started on Smith's other work.

The original is pretty much just something Gen-Xers remember as one of the many merchandise driven cartoon franchises of the 80s. If you were born after 1980 it's pretty much a pop cultural non-entity.

Looks like some of the best western animation in a decade though, which is kinda sad. Maybe it'll be decent and Kevin Smith can redeem himself (rate me optimistic). Clerks The Animated series was actually pretty solid.
