EDIT: The sad part about this whole ordeal is that back when the game first launched it was actually known for having a really friendly and generally helpful fanbase. Reddit has managed to poison that so hard that people are now getting fucking doxed and fired from their jobs because they dared to ask the devs to play their own game for a charity, to both do some IRL good AND show the devs that the balance is fucked in the live product and they need to fix it.

Reddit is a fucking blight on humankind, it ALWAYS turns into gay tribalism and powertripping. These sweaty no-lifer white knights ruined a man's life because he dared to question a game dev they like. Wtf.

This game is for nolife faggots totally disconnected from their own heritage, to be honest with you. The kind of antisocial slime who must have a 'For the Federation!! For Emperor Palpatine!" because it's the only way they can engage in tribalism, nationalism, or feel a broader connection to a society and to have a goal. It is revolting, because it is something you can just go outside and do, but sympathetic because they were raised into these mentally castrated people who do not know how to go about this, and if they did, have been immunized against roots by a society, parents and media diet that were all dogshit (Though the first only because of lack of participation.)

If they were playing Traveler or Settlers of Catan, something that required an entity exist outside of Online Fwends; they'd need to go find some actual people, learn to be tolerable, assimilate into the wider world around them and start growing. Appreciate that it's difficult to actually grow from prick to person, have a little more empathy for people who actually work for a living.
 
This is why I don't interact with this specific community at all. I still love this game, but jesus fucking christ this community is volatile, from the overtly serious roleplayers to the downright assholes who ruin missions "for the lols".
Arrowhead needs to take initiative and bring the hammer down more often, fans need to calm the fuck down and quit being a cheap imitation of ARMA roleplayers, and any faggot Redditor who participated in the life ruination of this man needs to get a severe flogging. Fuck this shit.

Probably. But even then I'd like to think that bugdivers would be kind of aware of how annoying hive world missions can be and thus wouldn't defend the devs to this extent.

This is what happens when you let Swedes out of the cage. All they had to do was not shut down any criticism and only listen to "erm skill issue, the game is perfect" posters that suck them off in their discord server, and get off their asses for more than one day a week to actually fix shit before releasing it.

All they had to do was listen to the people complaining about the game's problems instead of the glazers for 5 minutes.

If Arrowhead was a Polish company run by Polakchuds none of this shit would've happened.
 
Mandatory reminder that the anticheat is garbage, you can find the Cheat Engine table for free, cheat in enough currency to buy out the store in an hour, do not contribute to the Swigger economy.
 
Some additional missing context which makes the situation worse:

After Key_Complex_150 proposed the original challenge, another person made another post which upped the ante and offered another $1000, but only if the devs did the challenge with absolutely dogshit loadouts, and only if they could manage to fully clear an entire operation.
This was blatantly more of a 'fuck you' challenge, and even top players would've struggled doing it.

Now, because this new challenge was more of a troll challenge that would've just resulted in the devs being railed and suffering, and is 100% not possible for the devs who we already know aren't good at the game, some 'people' felt that it wasn't made in good faith.

They felt that the issuer of the challenge was basically trying to goad the devs into suffering for entertainment, because not taking the challenge would mean no charity money would be given.

This train of thought gave rise to the idea the the issuer was "holding the charity money hostage" just to fuck with the devs.

With the above in mind, these 'people' set out to dox and harass the issuer, calling his place of work and the like to screw him over. And here's the kicker: they doxed the first guy, not the person who made the additional challenge, meaning they doxed the wrong person for the wrong reason.
