Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

The reaction has been very amusing on the discord.

Edit:
I wonder if I can effectively burner this game's PSN requirement since my physical address has changed in the 10 fucking years since I've used PSN.
Heheh.. grats soyny, you've just wasted storage and bandwidth to get nothing but me screaming "SWEET LIBERTY MY LEG!"

I'm having lots of fun with the orbital airburst. If you throw it atop a breach instead of napalm or gas it's not uncommon to score 60+ kills.

I think it's time to lob a few grenades into this mess.

Lol. Well that's just one more reason for me to never buy the game.

Anyway, I don't think the PSN requirement will curtail popularity. Maybe when Sony eventually forces LGBT bullshit will see to that.

The best cope they have use is "It's only for NEW players" as if it's not then going to be everyone needs one. Why can't Swedes make a game without needing the data of what I tug my tonka truck to.

The assumption is that by forcing everyone to link their PSN accounts, they're also forcing crossplay. Forced crossplay usually only happens when playercounts dip hard. See: Darktide. Did this game only sell gangbusters on pc? The game has been bleeding players since launch but it's still sitting at over 100k average concurrent on steam (down from close to 500k at its peak) which is quite comfy.
What's the gambit? Sony being faggots once again?

  • Pad/Misrepresent PSN registration numbers to investors/advertisers for more money than warranted by their actual platform penetration
    • (think about it, this is Sony claiming steam's userbase as if they're playstation 5)
  • Mine user data and sell it

When I saw the steam post, I could physically feel the goodwill being pissed away.
A lot of people coping on Twitter saying "Uhm actually it said you'd need to link a PSN account in the tiny yellow tag on the store page" as if it isn't a huge issue, possibly a legal one, that Arrowhead/Sony went ahead and released the game in countries where PSN isn't available.
I hope for the best, but it's Sony.
