Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

If you aren't playing the game with friends, the secret to finding good randoms is keeping console cross play turned off and leaving groups the instant someone speaks a language other than English. Both of these should have been evident from the get-go, but I'm a little slow.
bruh, why did you not do that the instant you could open the menus
console shitters were the bane of my existence in Darktide, thank fuck Arrowhead isn't as stone-cold retarded as Fatshark on that

I'm really starting to come around to using the E/MG-101 HMG Emplacement when fighting the bots. Just have to find a decent hill/towards a choke point and it really tears up everything short of a titan/tank. The sheer glee from your characters after firing it for a bit is also great.

I want to...but a keeping a level of personal OpSec prevents me from going all it.

Lets talk weapons and strategems, what are your guys favourites' and what advice do you have for them?

I've really taken to using SMG primarys for fighting bugs. The ability to shoot backwards as you run is very useful, you can alternate between sprinting away and turning to fire when your stamina depletes, which will keep them off your ass long enough for it to recharge. The starting SMG fires too fast for my liking, burns through ammo really quickly. I find the 2nd SMG to be much better (it's called the defender or something like that, unlocked on war bonds page 3). It has a slower rate of fire but is pretty accurate even at mid range when crouched.

For strategems I just unlocked the 350KG high explosive orbital barrage for the purpose of blowing up outposts but it seems very inprecise. The shells scatter over a wide area and often don't hit what i was aiming for, instead vaporising a teammate standing 20 metres away from the beacon. I can't unlock the 500KG bomb drop yet so what other strikes are good for outposts? Ones that will take a few fabricators and bugholes with them.

Also one thing I've been wondering: The expendable anti tank rocket vs. The recoiless rifle. Why on earth would you choose the former? It's single use vs. The recoiless rifle's 6 reloads. I would hope it does more damage but I can't find stats and dont have enough money to buy it just to find out. On that note are either of them worth using over the autocannon anyway?

Sounds like a weapon where you're supposed to stay with the beacon and see everything around you get flattened.

I've been running the smg 37 pretty much exclusively with recoil reducing light armor. It fires in a straight line when I'm crouched or prone. I can reliably take out devastators and scout bots with it too via head popping

The EATR has a really short cooldown, something like 100 seconds base. Still not really worth using as a main if you have King Carl unlocked, but i could see it being a good supplement for non backpack support weapons

I tried that and got blown the fuck up too. Sometimes I get lucky throwing it in a big nest or bile titan objective area. Definitely better to open up with rather than use in a pinch.

The 120mm and 350mm orbital bombardments are better at area denial than they are at killing outposts. The best outpost killer for bots is the orbital laser, hands down. I've watched that thing slice apart heavy outposts and their defenders with a single call in. It's one of the only stratagems with a hard limit on how much you can use it for a reason. Other than that the standard bomb airstrike is very good as it can cover a large enough area to get multiple factories/bugholes with a single call in and you can call two quick strikes before a longer cooldown.

EATs and the RR can take out bot dropships before they can drop off their reinforcements. I don't think the EAT is any more damaging than the RR, but you get two EATs per drop in and they don't take up your backpack slot (or someone else if you have teammates reload you). The EAT also has a 70s base cooldown so you can keep calling them in when you need them. RR is going to be better in most cases, but if you've got new players or people who aren't running a support weapon for some reason then it's not necessarily a bad choice.

No offense, but looking to make social connections here that can yield identifying information could be compared to a sociological metaphor of sticking your dick into an overly full sharps container and fucking it vigorously.
You don't have a separate steam account for Kiwifarms and /v/? Bad OpSec bruv.

I didn't consider the backpack angle or the fast cooldown. Sounds ideal for bot defence missions, throw down the beacon and leave it for anyone to pick up and use when dropship appears maybe.

Finally got a copy of the game and man... I've really been missing out on this, huh? The game is fucking awesome, love blowing up bugs and going through robohell. It's one of the few recent videogames that actually feels just like a game and isn't trying to nickel and dime people.

Lets talk weapons and strategems, what are your guys favourites' and what advice do you have for them?
Since I'm still new and haven't gotten all of them, out of the ones I've gotten my favorites are the Machine Gun and Recoilless Rifle, I love being able to go around like space Rambo and cut down bugs with a slower firing but powerful AP HMG and also being able to explode a bug with a teammate with the RCR. I just unlocked the explosive AR in the premium Warbond and I'm excited to try it out.

Go prone on a high vantage point with that MG and your effectively a sentry. Shoots straight as a laser and cuts through bugs like butter.

As far as favorites, right now the ones I've been having fun with are the Autocannon, Mortar Sentry, Eagle Airstrike, and the Orbital 380mm barrage. I've found them to be really fun dealing with both the bugs and bots.

Weapons wise I've been loving the Breaker as my main gun with the Redeemer as my secondary

Haven't hit level 20 yet so still grinding to get the rest of the stuff and still digging through the battlepass weapons.

In my (limited) experience, the 120/380 Orbitals are mostly a "blow your team up" button unless you've a) spent enough time to figure out how large their coverage radii are, and b) have a well-coordinated team who also knows where the "get blown up" zone is and to stay well clear.
If you don't have the 500KG Eagle bomb, the regular Eagle Airstrike works just as well. The area is a little smaller, but you get 2 uses before it needs to be rearmed - it's been my go-to for popping bot outposts while I'm away from the rest of the team. One thing to be aware of with the Eagle strikes is if the targeting is parallel or perpendicular, relative to your position when you throw the beacon. The Cluster Bomb and Airstrike are perpendicular, so it might be worth it to warn your team when you toss those in a pitched gunfight, and if you see one of your own team hurl one near you you'll need to know which way to run and not get flattened.
The Grenade Launcher and Autocannon can also be used to take out bug holes easily, if you have them. They can also blow up fabricators, but you have to aim just so for the explosion to get into the vents properly. I've done it with the AC, but it took about half of a mag in the process.

The Breaker shotgun is stupid powerful right now. 12 round mag, fairly tight spread, and is useful at longer ranges than tickling distance. Personally, I'm having a hard time using other guns because they just feel lacking in comparison.
Scythe is fun, but I don't feel like it's strong enough to be worth bringing for now. Democracy save us if they ever put the Trident back in from the first game - a damned laser shotgun responsible for a significant amount of accidental teamkills.
The basic Liberator does alright, and you can use it for longer-range engagements if you set its scope to 75m and either flip to burst/semi or are just careful on the trigger. The Liberator Penetrator doesn't seem like it does a much better job in spite of having medium armor pen. Hell, if I feel like I need a rapid fire gun, I'll just take the Stalwart stratagem - I prefer the mobility and running reload over the base machine gun.

I'm really starting to come around to using the E/MG-101 HMG Emplacement when fighting the bots. Just have to find a decent hill/towards a choke point and it really tears up everything short of a titan/tank. The sheer glee from your characters after firing it for a bit is also great.
Hearing Yuri Lowenthal lose his shit is oddly satisfying, regardless of game. He really sells the "barely-hinged psychopath" tone.

The Breaker is just too good at this point. I hear the Slugger(still need to unlock it) is also good since it does have medium armor pent and tends to stagger the big guys but nothing beats just arming the Breaker vaguely at a weakpoint on a bug/bot and going to town.

I've really come to love the Airtrsike but find every one else love for the Mortar Sentry annoying. Good help you on a save the science teams missions / go exploring once people start throwing up the Mortar Sentry.

After seeing this video about the Railguns "unsafe mode" I'm gonna have to give it a shot:

I feel like in most futuristic scenarios, literal globohomo is unavoidable once you progress past a certain point of existential threat. I feel like the only thing that could unify the world in it's entirety is either an alien invasion or an apocalyptic threat.
This here is still fantasy as there's always going to be subversive and traitors to the human species. And the my way or the highway pissing/shooting matches over who going to lead against the existential threat. Especially when one or more of globohomo factions are (Stalinist/Maoist) communist going against the lesser globohomo faction(s) and non globohomo faction(s).
