Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

I fucking love the Eruptor. The splash damage is insane, a few bullets will dispatch a full patrol of bots or bugs, it can destroy bot fabricators and bug holes, you can aim over shoulder when advancing or scope in to go full sniper. It also scratches that itch of running around quickscoping with a meaty bolt-action rifle that COD cursed me with many moons ago. There seems to be an annoying bug right now though where if you shoot an enemy at too close range and get caught in the blast, you get flung TOWARD the explosion, landing right underneath the enemies feet if they are still alive. Bad place to be.

Grenade pistol is exactly what it says on the can, it's a single shot from the grenade launcher support but in secondary form with 8 backup grenades. This also has a bug where a fresh pistol can shoot 2 grenades before the first reload, it then becomes 1 per reload as normal thereafter. Somebody on Reddit said this is tied to the hellpod space optimization perk (full ammo).

I loathe how one of the armors looks perfect for a fireproof perk, yet none of them have any new perks and are functionally identical to armors already in game.

Edit: Next up is the crossbow I will report back once I use it, I didn't bother with the Adjuticator as I had a feeling it would be shit, we need weapon upgrades or something for the 6 or so primaries that were never viable. I'm excited to buff the flamethrower the most but it will be a while before I have those samples...

the crossbow is shit and has no place in a game where the eruptor exists
 
In a game this morning, guy with super samples dies across the map while everyone was at the extraction point, pelican hadn't been called yet, they reinforce him, he types in chat that its to far away and a patrol is on top of it, another guy said its fine it happens, I start running across the map.

They call the extraction while i'm running, i get all the way across the map, kill the hulk standing on top of the samples with 2 quasar shots, start running back.

Pelican lands, they hold off getting in but the extraction starts getting over run and some one manages to get on while the other 2 are trying their best to thin out the enemies.

I do a hero run to the pelican having to dive over and over again through enemies after using a stim and getting shot while my HP is recovering still and some how manage to get on the ship with only a couple seconds left.

Felt like one of those moments.

Not a bug, all tube-fed weapons have one in the chamber, at least with the Space Optimization perk.

why would anyone use orbitals instead of full eagle? Like you get mutiple runs within a minute or so, compared to the long cooldown of the orbitals.

Yeah but rail cannon and orbital laser are both amazing. Eagle is for raining hell onto bases and cooking bugs but orbital has the best "Oh shit button"s in the game. The laser especially can recover the most fucked up situations.

I really like the gas strike too but it doesn't fit the role of "blows up structures" or "oh fuck oh fuck" so it doesn't get that much use. And it's worthless against bots. Arrowhead should take a page from DRG and make the gas combustible.

Hurm... On one hand combos like that are cool and I want to see a huge cloud of gas flare up from an incendiary... on the other hand if they start adding too many such interactions it will further calcify a meta... The gas strikes could use something to make them more exciting though. I would also like to see the gas do gas things like blow downfield in the wind (though that is annoying and difficult to implement and I understand why they have not).

The biggest issue with the gas is that what it is best at (suppressing bug breaches/holding chokes) it is also bested at by Napalm Airstrike.

Lastly we are still missing the 3rd enemy faction and it might end up being: bugs = fire, bots = electricity, illuminate = gas?... but I kinda doubt it, I wonder what gear will be meta against them?

God damn this game. Was running like a manic cause I had two Bile Titans on my tail but luckly there was a broken hellbomb right next to me. My random teammate was able to hit the hellbomb to start the countdown right as I ran past and was able to catch both in the blast.

I'm always shocked about how quickly people will bail some times. Started random level 7 mission on the bugs taking out eggs, with only 3 people did pretty well (even got all the Super Samples), but while making it to the extract one rage quit and other bailed shortly afterwards. Threw out the SOS Beacon and 2 random dudes that showed up for 2 min got some Super Samples for no effort.

I have completed a few 7/8's with good random teams that stay together for a couple hours and with Admiral friends on comms they are smooth even ... but randos will find ways to fuck up so bad. I will do random lvl 4's (5's lately because I'm getting bored of 4's) just because I know I can solo them. I'll be sitting there with a Quasar killing drop ships and dealing with Hulks and then some jackass will airstrike my position, the whole battlefield will turn into a hot mess by the time I get dropped into the hottest part of the battle and if I live then I have to risk my life to get the damn kit cause lord knows Capitan Danger Close isn't going to fucking cover me while I do it and nobody else brought anything to deal with heavies... This will go on until I blow an orbital laser (if I have one) to regain control after the team has depleted a ton of reinforce and when I eventually do get said kit they are already going in two directions and re-engaging with patrols or staring mission objectives alone.

Also fun when mortars start dropping and the whole team runs around reinforcing and then immediately dying while looking for their kits for 15 minutes. Now I just mark the mortar base and start going and if they don't follow me they can get fucked.
 
Arrowhead really needs to fix the "Pelican One doesn't show up" bug cause I just barely made it through 5 min extraction with the last 2:30 having no stratgems.

Thank God the emergency Pelican dropped worked.
 
Enlighten us.
You gotta have the ammo backpack on, then on your last grenade during the throw animation, you spam the strategem button on and off with out entering any keys to glitch the animation, if you end up holding a grenade with 0/4 or 0/6 grenades, you can keep throwing them infinitely as it counts into the negative numbers
