Knives feel so bizarre. Sometimes it feels like they do nothing, other times I one shot something that has no business getting one shot. So far I've been able to one shot devastators, and somehow made a chargers head explode with one. The charger I've not been able to replicate.

I do wish their aiming worked better, like they reliably go where the crosshair is. Always seems a fair bit off, at least in my experience.
I wish grenades would have some kind of targeting indicator, because landing thermites and knives is the most frustrating shit on Earth.

The devs have mentioned that helmets were going to have special huds based on the armor specialty before it was scrapped for release. I hope they implement it and add a grenade curve arc display on grenadier armor helmets.

Came back after a few months of having the game rot on my SSD, and the new balance patch is fucking excellent. I didn't really care about balance too much besides when they over-corrected on the Railgun, but them fixing the Spear is so fucking good, despite it not being able to take down Bot Fabricators anymore. The only issue I have with the Spear is that it sometimes hits the "wrong" part when targeting tanks, instead of hitting the turret it hits the body and essentially does like zero damage. I also got the 2 most recent Warbonds, Polar Patriots and Viper Commandos and they're very good and fun. The AR on Polar Patriots is great and probably my favorite primary weapon to use during Bot missions now and I carry the sawed off shotgun pistol to decimate Berserkers. Thanks Arrowhead for making your game interesting again.

I hope they just make this a default thing, I personally don't like the idea of helmets having effects as it adds another small element of micromanagement that also prevents me from wearing the helmet that I think looks the coolest.

They should ditch armour perks altogether and make them single personal perks you can equip similar to boosters but theyc only affect you. Too many armours are never used because the perks aren't desirable.

I have never stopped wearing the Hero of the Federation set because a 50% to avoid lethal damage with no internal cooldown is one of the most blatantly broken things I have seen in years. One time I was marked a traitor, I kept avoiding death while the bombardments were killing all the bugs chasing me. I could tell it was proc'ing a lot because I was spamming stims to regen health and for the speed boost but I was dropping to 1 hp constantly. Eventually I died but it completely turned a situation of us being overrun to a very manageable amount of bugs.

About the same here although sometimes I would choose the hybrid heavy armor, I think it was Enforcer. They need to release more elemental armor perks like fire resistance or gas resistance, and un nerf the fucking quasar.

About the only armor skills I genuinely think is situational are Servo Assisted and Electrical Conduit - the former's sole purpose is allowing you to yeet strike beacons from ridiculous ranges, and if you don't need that, you will not be needing Servo Assisted. Limb damage resistance doesn't matter with how easy it is to heal and how easy it is to die in this game. Electrical Conduit meanwhile exists solely to enable the famed Ghostbusters Squad tactic: have everyone load up on Tesla towers, Blitzers, and Arc Throwers and any incidental damage you take is reduced to about 5% of what it does, taking basically all risk out of this. No arc damage means no reason to ever take it.

Fortified is excellent. The reduction in recoil is a big help to weapons that kick hard, and 50% reduction in explosive damage means you stand a good chance of surviving almost any incidental from the bots. That it's on so many good armors (including the "in between" Enforcer) is another plus.

Extra Padding is simple, but does the job. +50 Armor. Makes light armor as protective as medium, medium as heavy, heavy even tankier. Ideally, pair with vitality.

Med-Kit is deceptively strong and arguably among the best armor skills. +2 Stim Capacity is a big help and they last 2 seconds longer too. This can and will help you survive shit you have no business surviving, and uniquely among armor skills, the boost to your drugs also works on stimming your teammates. It also stacks with the new Booster so you can make your drugs even more ridiculous while getting more of them and making addicts out of your teammates.

Peak Physique
is wonderful. You won't really notice the melee boost until you bring down medium enemies slightly faster, but the reduction in weapon sway and handling speed is absolutely incredible; try it with the Diligence Counter-Sniper or Dominator and you will see exactly what I mean; it is exceptionally strong.

Engineering Kit is Fortified's offensive cousin: Same reduction in recoil, but +2 grenades as opposed to 50% explosive resist. Engineering Kit is awesome when you're using Thermites or Impact Grenades and can be equally good when spamming Stuns which may in fact be the game's most broken throwable in the hands of a skilled player.

In terms of raw survivability, Democracy Protects is hard to top. Torso damage, unlike limb damage, will lead to a bleed-out if not treated, and this skill prevents that. The ability to potentially never be one-shotted though leads to hilarious bullshit like players meleeing hellbombs to hurl themselves directly to the objective in seconds. It's absolutely awesome, but it only has a 1-in-2 chance to trigger and will only activate if you're over a certain health threshold; beware.

So you have two situational ones, a bunch of really good ones, and two outright hilariously bullshit ones. Good times.

My go-to for bots was Democracy armor because for a while I seemed to run into random bullshit hits like scouts or devastators with their heavy shots nailing me in the head, as well as surviving explosions but often I'd get launched and the impact would kill me after. Now I run fortified because explosives tend to be half the reason I get killed (I may be crazy but I think tank and tower shots are explosive? I feel like I'm also surviving those close hits with more health), and the recoil reduction is great because I run Autocannon and being able to lay waste with it and not miss while prone is wonderful

New bug/QoL patch just dropped:

  • Hellbombs now get called down facing the player, rather than away from the player.
Fucking finally!

PS.

I hope he does not get a warm welcome in the Discord because I don't fucking buy that for a second.

Pilestedt becomes CCO and then a good patch comes out that doesn't have a single nerf (there was technically a damage reduction on something explosive but it was to balance out the fact the explosion now penetrates the same as the projectile does for a net buff). What changed? Fucking liar. Philosophy staying the same I thought that was buff don't nerf, and it was nothing but nerfs on shit that wasn't even egregious.

I always called them down then would walk to the other side where the panel would be before it landed
I do too, but there have been scenarios (mainly when trying to take out gunship fabs) when I am hugging the building for dear life/preventing the gun ship from hitting the hellbomb and the hellbomb will come down in a position I can't arm it.

Yeah, i've had instances where I do it and then when i go to punch in the buttons the camera gets fucked and i can't see the panel no matter what i do while punching the buttons in so i have to get off it, move around, memories the order, then punch them in lol

Man, every time these devs open their stupid fuckin faggot mouths, my desire for the game to fail increases.

Like they actually need tard wrangler, Pile is too busy trying to unfuck the balance to do that.

I just hope the next patch is like this one. A step in the right direction instead of breaking the community over its knee with Minecraft mob vote levels of negativity.

I've been having a lot of fun against bugs running a fire gimmick build. Breaker Incendiary, Flamethrower, Eagle Napalm Strike, and Incendiary Mines. I'll start using incendiary impact grenades when I sperg up enough medals to unlock them.

Extra slots go to floaters depending on the mission type.
