I managed to get a refund and are out for good because of that shit. They didn't even walk it back, loads of countries are still delisted
I didn't even get into HD2 despite being a fan of the first game because of intrusive piece of shit GameGuard (anti-cheat in a PVE game, lol, we all know it was just to protect their MTX because it didn't stop hackers at all). I heard talk of them potentially removing it with something better so I kept an eye on the game, then Sony decided to shove that PSN requirement and now I'm 100% never touching that game, and the fact that they basically told however many countries to go fuck themselves and provided them no solutions reinforces my sentiment.

The shield has been quite a godsend for fighting the bots. Any good strats for maximizing firepower? I'm thinking about getting commando as the third gun because I can't get a backpack with the shield on. Beam pistol appears to be the most viable secondary.
Haven't played against bots in a hot minute but pre-patch I ran the Shield/Pummeler (Polar Patriots warbond SMG)/Railgun. I'm actually going to play again in a bit with the same loadout to see how it holds up. The Pummeler is pretty kickass against both bots/bugs because of the stagger, ammo pool and one handed feature. Whenever I ran into Heavy Devastators (minigun or rocket ones) I'd just swap to the railgun and oneshot them with a hit to their leg(s). The biggest problem with this setup pre-patch was that the railgun didn't do dick to gunships so you were completely fucked if you ran into them, but now that you can kill them with 2 engine hits it's all good.

I was enjoying the Pummeler/Shield combo but it was brought to my attention that SMGs aren't the only one-handed primaries. The exploding crossbow is also one handed. That with shield is pretty top notch.

Punisher Plasma is also top tier against bots -- good damage, explosive/splash projectiles, staggers everything that isn't a super heavy, decent ammo pool if you aim well.

My friend pointed this out to me:

If anyone here is a culture war grifter now is the time to make your "Helldivers gone WOKE!?" videos.

I'm on vacation; I know the Senator got buffed but can someone tell me how the Verdict and Purifier feel after the patch? The Verdict is my favourite sidearm and I always wanted the Purifier to be reworked.

The Verdict doesn't feel too different from before on Bugs. Most of the enemies that you could kill before with it just take a shot or two less now, it's very slight. I imagine that it will more noticeable on Bots. I want to try replacing the Senator with it in my ballistic shield builds.

The Purifier changes are much more interesting. Using the charged shots sort of feels like the crossbow when it was in that weird place after AH removed its AOE and ramped up its damage. So it absolutely bullies elites like brood commanders and devastators through stagger and damage, but the AOE might as well not be there. But it feels much better than the crossbow did because of it's higher magazine, it feels way less clunky than the crossbow, and you don't automatically have to switch weapons when something gets too close. Overall I really like how they reworked it and it will probably get better the more you experiment with it.

everything has been much better and the 2 rando experience has been even less shit after this update. the only thing i don't like is the weird bug introduced where completing a mission didn't complete the mission. i guess its like they always say one step forward one foot straight up my ass

As a Helldivers 2 enjoyer I am happy to say that the game is the best it has ever been right now. The newly buffed jump pack is now a worthy contender to the shield and supply pack and every gun has its place. Seems like Arrowhead actually got their shit together for once. If you haven't touched the new jump pack I highly recommend it.

I hope they do something about ragdolling soon, having missed shots from missile walkers/striders throw me back into the horde of bots I'm trying to escape elicits a rage I haven't felt since I played DotA as a teen. I'd genuinely rather they just kill me on the spot instead of yanking me back like a tiny dog on a leash.

I never knew how much I needed red and black gear until now.
I got the stahlhelm and am never going back. I am quite excited for a plasma pistol. Too bad there's no plasma grenade.

This warbond feels a little bit sparse. At this point we have too many boosters competing with a handful of exceptionally good picks. Hopefully they'll be changing up the warbond formula soon or give us more booster slots. Perhaps personal boosters will make a return from the first game.
