Got back into it after a long while.

Which of the new warbonds are worth it? I don't have Polar, Fire, Chem, and Truth.

Really enjoying the buffs though, things feel much faster and enjoyable overall.

Am I just bad or is armor penetration a huge must have?I feel like I'm severely nerfing myself if I don't use the slug shotgun and bring a recoiless rifle or a auto cannon

Or did they change that in the past 4 months?

You pretty much need something with armor pen, just make sure to bring along something like the new buffed railgun to delete devastators or for bugs I like the EAT or the recoilless is better now after buffs.

For primaries against bots I like the punisher plasma, stunlocks dudes and can chip chicken walkers. For bugs I use the blitzer and a strat for the big bads.

I have polar and just got truth. Polar is a lot better than when it first came out. The purifier got reworked and now it's one of the coolest weapons in the game. People swear by the Tenderizer, but I don't use it much personally so I couldn't tell you. The impact incendiary grenades feel much better to use against hordes of bugs than the steel veterans grenades. The armor is generic and the booster is useless. I like it but it is a mixed bag.
On truth, I'm really enjoying the new SMG and plasma pistol. Having a mini-purifier is a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Plus I've heard the new unflinching perk is really good. Supposedly the new booster is not completely useless. And it all comes with a sick red and black color scheme.

One of the changes they made was to increase partial damage (when armor pen matches armor) so that people felt less forced to use medium armor pen primaries. It's more viable than it was a few months ago especially with the buffs a lot of those weapons have received, but depending on the faction and weapon it requires you to have a specific game plan in mind. Generally against bots you have to go for headshots against devastators and on bugs you have to keep an eye out for hive guards and shoot around their armor plates. But it is a possible to run a light armor pen weapon on higher difficulties, especially against bugs since armor penetration is a lot more important against bots. It is also possible to go without a heavy armor pen or anti-tank weapon, but only if you're willing to deal with the weirdness that entails.

The Diplomatic space station is finally operational and a much needed resource sink.

Players will vote on where it moves, the three modules for now are Rare samples - orbitals pummel the planet and liberation is faster, common - random eagle Air strikes throughout the map and requisition - no attacks can originate from the planet and all divers get hellpod optimization.

Random instant death, Random instant death (but cheaper), or a free extra booster slot (this is the cheapest option)
Absolutely genius design. I tried playing a few rounds on the planet we're currently bombarding and it's atrocious. We haven't even been able to extract with all four people because the extraction zone keeps getting nuked. I anticipate the only module that will ever see use in its current state is the free hellpod optimization one.

I got randomly blown up 4 times in the last mission where I wouldn’t have died otherwise. It definitely made the gameplay a lot more hectic because it felt like a teammate had dropped a 380 right next to me the entire mission.

>hey guys so you know that modifier that applies if you try to leave the map for 10 seconds, yeah we just applied that to everywhere on the map, not even focusing on the red zones cause that would be too useful
>eagle and booster are broken btw have fun lol

this fucking sucks
It would be pretty neat if it actually avoided shooting at players and like focused on enemies or something. The only time I saw it actually do anything other than kill us was it hit a bot fabricator that I had already thrown thermite on.
How is the eagle and boosters broken? They seem to be working fine for me.

Idk if its a visual bug then, but the timers for them are stuck on 2minutes and 49 minutes, not completed
I think it might be intentional. From the way the menu looks, it implies only one action can be active at a time. Either donations are paused or they're full and it's not communicating that they're on "standby".
I don't completely hate the new DSS thing, but I understand why people do. It's certainly an experience. It provides the chaos but there's no way to manage or deal with it, so you just hope and pray you don't get turned into paste by a stray shot. I know it's bad, but I just can't bring myself to hate it.

If anything it nicely shows the ineptitude and carelessness of Super Earth's military.

"Our forces have agreed on regular orbital bombardment!"
"On the planet they're currently on? If you say so..."

I definitely livens up missions, but after the 5th time of getting blown to bits and watching it not even scratch the enemies it goes get a bit old.

Played a full operation (only on 7) and don't recall it taking out a single fabricator, factory strider, turret or really anything beyond basic chaff and one or two hulks. It did however rack up about 12 team kills tho. 10/10 effect- extremely goofy & wacky.

I played two missions with that bombardment stuff and first time I got TKed by it at least 3 times and the second time I just brought a personal shield backpack. That said, It did destroy some smaller outposts pretty well. There would be about two ways I would tweak it. First is that it shouldn't target areas with no enemies unless there would be something that would block visibility from space, like a storm or excessive atmospheric spores. Secondly, I would like to see it prefer targeting stuff that helldivers would mark, so people would actually bother marking large enemy formations and outpost fabricators.
