I agree with him that Leviathans are shit, because they are very inconsistent. Some games I can safely outright ignore them and other games they rapid fire sniper shots that constantly slaughter both me and my teammates pretty much as soon as we step out of cover. Sometimes they fire all of their guns at once in a shotgun blast and just rape you, sometimes they're totally blind. Sometimes they spend the whole match floating around nowhere in particular and sometimes you're constantly underneath 2 or 3 phasing through each other to get you. Definitely my least favorite addition to the Illuminates. Doesn't help that they are so absurdly tanky and respawn with such frequency that you see them way more often than interlopers, which are by contrast a dramatically better addition to the Illuminate arsenal.
So I just got back into this game during the Super Earth event and want to know why there are over 14,000 players in the Terminid zone just fucking off. Is it some dumb protest thing? It's not like Terminids are more fun with their lame chargers and bile titans requiring more work to take out.
Each faction has a subset of players that play the faction exclusively and I'm pretty sure Bugdivers are the largest group like that. It doesn't matter what is going on, there will always be a couple thousand diving on Bugs.
Game breaking bugs, devs fucking with the game balance and movement speed too much and ending up with a lot of veterans quitting months ago, and adding in some of the galactic war content that was in Helldivers 1's galactic war.
The next step is a counter offensive operation to the bot, squid, and bug homeworlds to bring them managed democracy like in the first game.
Yeah, I'm giving up.
I can't do any more squid missions any longer and it also looks like that's what we'll get for the foreseeable future.
The huge drop in players seems to indicate I'm not the only one getting burned out fast.

Shoot the glowing fucking drones you retard. They're slow and are easy to destroy and there's even a delay while they scan you.
As for the rest of your post, you're just shit. Squids are boring and I'm sick of them but not because of anything you listed. They're just incredibly easy. At least the bugs are fun to fight despite them being easy too. How are you even getting killed by the leviathans? Are you standing still with no cover constantly?
It feels like they doubled the spawn rate and halved the call off time of those little fuckers and the super earth urban environment makes their movement even more fucky than before. I used to be able to shut their reinforcements down 95% of the time but clearly the "balance" people didn't like that.
I've been grinding out Trivial with my kid and randos trying to do them as quick as possible. 1 every 10 minutes, shame because half the time they aren't getting the concept of divide and conquer.
Does anyone else notice that enemies seem to concentrate on the host? When I host enemies seem to spawn near me way more often, but if I join I can get a lot of enemy free time

Just do friends only on match making. My oldest son does the same thing with my grandson. it's pretty adorable seeing him run around the playground pretending rocks are stratagems and pretending a big gun shaped stick is an autocannon.

Thank you for your insightful commentary. I was referring to the fact that unlike bots that if you kill them after they raise their hand to shoot off a flair you can stop them if you kill them. The drones are uninterruptible in the way that if you kill them after they start to glow white, they will still shoot off their three little balls off into the air ten feet from their now disassembled corpse.
And as far as the leviathans, I'm glad you seem to have no trouble but I dislike having to worry about looking up at the sky while I shoot at a fleshmob running my ass down just in case a silent starship five hundred meters away decides that I in particular needed to die today.
I don't mind the drone in the city maps since the lighting really makes it easy to see where they are and where they looking (plus it really sets the mood).
Its really looking like Super Earth is gonna fall.
All of the new and old illuminant enemies support the intended gameplay loop. You are a paratrooper commando whose primary objective is to disrupt enemy positions and objectives deep behind enemy lines with minimal support. You should always be running to an objective or away from unnecessary combat. Unless you are doing an objective you should not be getting into stand-up fights. if you do have to defend stuff you should pick stratagems to support that. A lot of people fall into the noob trap of carrying a bunch of high cool down stuff because big explosion good and then when they turn a corner and face a mob of stuff they are shit out of luck because they don't have any rapid fire strategems to unshit their pants.
The big flying things incentivize you to not stand around and fight for you will be shot, the illuminate scout things encourage you to not get tunnel vision

Honestly I'm getting annoyed at how few people bring the heavy machine gun turret to the gate defense mission. It tears the shit out of everything and refreshes pretty quickly. It's a must-have on the extract assets mission, but so few people use it. I feel like i'm taking crazy pills.

With the low cooldown I'm bringing it to almost every mission.
I understand people getting burned out, but I'm still having fun picking weird loadouts, almost all of them work. My current jam is liberator+saber+fireworks, along with jump pack and commando, wearing the Peak Physique armor. (Plus 2 more low cooldown strategems, whatever you prefer.) You can skip around everywhere and kill everything, making your own fun wherever you go. Just have to accept the random deaths from Leviathans from time to time.
Played an illuminate mission for the first time after a long hiatus from the game.
It was OK I guess, not terrible not super engaging either. I still prefer bug missions but this is the big major order so I guess I'll play around with the squids some more when I have time.
