Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

I was expecting more with them making a bunch of Xeets and announcements about the stream, but an Xbox launch is welcome. It'll launch on August 26th.
Finally. This is the one game I've badly wanted to play and unfortunately this is my only avenue. I can't wait. I would hope Microsoft allows them to do a ODST styled thing. None of the preorder bonuses are Halo inspired I was expecting something like that.

Would it be worth an Xbox player getting the super citizen edition? It has the war bond token and super citizen status. Not familiar with the depths of that. I understand what the token does

I'd say go ahead and get the super cit version then pick a good warbond that will help you rank up a lot of xp quickly. I really prefer borderline justice out of any of them but that's probably just me, has the best sidearm and utility pack in the game for my retarded play style. Servants of Freedom gives you the portable hellbomb though which can take out stupid amounts of enemies in a flash. But once you get the new warbond you automatically get 300 super creds from that, then you can just farm super creds by playing low tier missions with good gear and leveling up quicker. I'd recommend levelling up your super destroyer with samples asap, try to hitchhike on with some higher levels onto higher tier missions since you'll get access to super samples quicker and be able to get better shit for your ship like reduced cool downs and extra 500kgs.

I bought it on pc at release, you basically get the first premium warbond (battle pass), which is very good, and some exclusive equipment: what is now the best SMG in the game, a set of armor that protects you from dying 50% of the time whenever you would normally die, and the super citizen title, which is just a title that says ”I’m a pay pig”.

I’ve since sworn off giving the dev money because of the way they talk about and treated their customers, but for value, id say it’s fine - the warbond costs $10 US in premium currency. I’ve gotten more than 3 coffees worth of amusement out of the exclusive equipment I’m happy with my purchase.

The bundle is $20 US, and I’ve spent more to get less in a game quite a few times. If Pilestedt hadn’t told the UN that he was brainwashing his customers to be fascists, I would wholeheartedly recommend, the game itself is in a very good state and extremely fun.

I appreciate it. I don't have tons of gaming time so it sounds like it would smooth the on boarding out a bit. I'll think about it. I never buy cosmetics in games or deluxe content but maybe I'll splurge.

I still think Democratic detonation is the best value out of a warbond in terms of helping build crafting. The thermite and grenade pistol give a lot of flexibility to the rest of your loadout, like being able to bring stun grenades and still be able to close bug holes with the pistol, just as an example.

DD is definitely a good one, especially with the crossbow. I rack up more kills vs bugs with that little bastard than anything. I just prefer borderline justice because the talon is so fun to use and has infinite ammo more or less, the hover pack lets me troll the fuck out of bot bases and bug holes on city maps, and the deadeye is probably the best rifle in its class vs bots (fight me Diligencefags).

Also the gas grenades and brap dog from the chemical warfare bond are great against bugs but that's really the only faction it truly excels against and those items are the only really decent ones. If someone new plans to fight bugs a lot I can see CW being a good pick up but for a new player I recommend BJ, DD or SoF

Also, now that they're doing the token thing instead of just giving you Steeled Veterans, I would very strongly recommend Democratic Detonation be the warbond you spend the token. Here's the recommendation I wrote a couple months back:

I have all of them, here's the order I would buy them with the game in its current state (and why):
  1. Democratic Detonation - crossbow, grenade pistol, thermite grenade. Crossbow is the best primary, and its not even close - it wipes out chaff with ease. The Crossbow and Grenade pistol are also amazing utilities for nests/factories/ufos and to open containers. Thermite grenade slaughters chargers and bot heavies. A good throw will get bile titans too, Aim for the head.
  2. Cutting Edge - Everything, really. Sickle, dagger, blitzer, plasma punisher, and stun grenade (really good on bots w/ laser cannon or railgun)
  3. Freedoms Flame - Flamethrowers, fire resistant armor, cookout. Less useful if you dont play bugs a lot, but the armor is great for fighting on fire tornado planets or against incineration corps. Combines well with the hover pack on bugs/illuminate
  4. Polar Patriots - plasma purifier, verdict, tenderizer are all very good guns, but they all sucked balls when it launched. The bad rap is out of date.
  5. Servants of Freedom - Double edge sickle, ultimatum, portable hellbomb. Ultimatum is the panzerfaust looking secondary that can kill most heavies and even blow up bot jammers. Be careful it has low range.
  6. Borderline Justice - Talon, hover pack, deadeye (if you like marksman rifles)
  7. Urban Legends - AT Emplacement is godlike on fort defense missions and generally very good. not much else here though
  8. Steeled Veterans - Fire breaker, fire grenade, servo assisted armors, senator - used to be way better last year during the termicide tower arc when every primary sucked but the fire breaker.
  9. Truth Enforcers - Loyalist (plasma purifier pistol)
  10. Chemical Agents - gas grenades are good for bugs/illuminate, healing pistol (if you care)
  11. Viper Commandos - Experimental infusion (piss stims), everything else is borderline useless

Since then, a couple warbonds have dropped and a lot of the weapons got buffs when they released the customization system. Here's my new ranking

God-Tier. Get this one first, Seriously. Its not even close.
  1. Democratic Detonation - Eruptor, exploding crossbow, grenade pistol, thermite grenade. Eruptor is the best primary, and its not even close. It's basically a bolt-action rocket launcher that shoots tiny flak rockets, and it wipes out chaff with ease, destroys bug nests/bot factories/ufos, has medium penetration, it can open treasure containers, break fences and generally fucks shit up. The Crossbow is the second best, and is still every bit as good as it was when it was the best weapon a few months ago - it basically trades shrapnel and range for rate of fire, higher explosion damage and is a one handed weapon. It's basically a grenade launcher. It and the Grenade pistol are also amazing utilities for nests/factories/ufos and to open containers. Thermite grenade is a sticky anti-armor grenade and it slaughters chargers and bot heavies. A good throw will get bile titans too, Aim for the forehead. Adjudicator is a solid medium penetration assault rifle that got a new lease on life with the weapon customization update.
S-Tier
  1. Cutting Edge - Everything, really. Sickle, dagger, blitzer, plasma punisher, and stun grenade (really good on bots w/ laser cannon or railgun). The dagger laser pistol recently got a massive buff with the tweaks they did to fire. Arc armor is very good when your idiot teammates take the new arc drone, or youre sick of getting killed by illuminate tesla towers
  2. Steeled Veterans - Fire breaker (auto shotgun), fire grenade, servo assisted armors, senator - all around strong, servo assisted lets you throw strategems farther and I cant live without it. Liberator concussive sucks balls though.
A Tier
  1. Polar Patriots - plasma purifier, verdict, tenderizer are all very good guns, but they all sucked balls when it launched. The bad rap is out of date.
  2. Chemical Agents - gas grenades are amazingfor bugs/illuminate, Gas drone is also amazing, healing pistol (if you care) NOTE: Gas does less DoT than fire but breaks aggro on enemies so its very useful for not getting swarmed on bugs or illuminate
  3. Freedoms Flame - Flamethrowers, fire resistant armor, cookout (pump fire shotgun). Less useful if you dont play bugs a lot, but the armor is great for fighting on fire tornado planets or against bot incineration corps. Combines well with the hover pack on bugs/illuminate
B- Tier
  1. Servants of Freedom - Double edge sickle, ultimatum, portable hellbomb nuke is fun. Ultimatum is the panzerfaust looking secondary that can kill most heavies. Be careful it has low range.
  2. Viper Commandos - Liberator carbine is now the best light pen assault rifle once you upgrade it. Experimental infusion (piss stims) is one of the 4 best boosters, everything else is borderline useless
  3. Urban Legends - AT Emplacement is godlike on fort defense missions and generally very good. Lots of people like the extra ammo armor perk. I don't really use it though, because I cant not use Servo Assisted
  4. Borderline Justice - Talon laser pistol is nice, hover pack, deadeye (if you like marksman rifles)
  5. Force of Law - Cool Police theme, lots of electic weapons. I find the pacifier to be underwhelming. The arc drone is really good but will make your teammates hate you
Trash
  1. Truth Enforcers - Loyalist (plasma purifier pistol). Looks cool, but not so useful. Reprimand is much better now with customization, but its still just a worse Adjudicator
  2. Masters of Ceremony - Big on looks, low on usefulness

I really appreciate it. I hate searching online for what's good and isn't anymore with live service games. you always find stuff from 1-2 years ago that isn't up to date. Started listening to the new RC bray audio book recording of Starship Troopers to prepare.

Would be cool if your squad could qualify somehow to run as the enemy against well matched players, but not have it look any differently. Suddenly the enemy starts acting coordinated and using strategy.
Helldivers 2 really does not need PVP and PVPers, who will fuck everything up just to fuck over everyone else.

Oh, I forgot to say - you can pick up premium currency randomly at points of interest on the map for free. Warbonds cost 1000 super credits, and you pick them up in stacks of 10, or if youre very lucky, the occasional stack of 100. If you find all the treasure spots, its not uncommon to walk away with 30-50 super credits per mission. You don't have to drop an additional dime on this game if you don't want to.

OH NO NO NO he doesn't know the fireworks nade sparks are anti tank so you can do shit like kill a factory strider with 2 of them if you just aim at the feet, or kill hulks/chargers if you time it right. Also kills factories/bug holes with the explosion. I consider it a top tier bot nade.

I painted the Amendment in Desert and made it the primary color so I can pretend it's Shughart's rifle in space.

Kinda underselling the AT Emplacement. It's easily the best stratagem against the bots in general, regardless of mission type. It's also one of the better options for dealing with Leviathans. It has far more use than pretty much every other green stratagem.
