I don't like any company that interacts with their community as a moderator outside of the game's official channels. I get that if global chat is full of slurs then retarded game journos will jump down your throat, and I get that marketing teams have to run xitter accounts, but any company that starts modding its own Discord and subreddit inevitably starts policing the tone and discussion of the game, leading to toxic positivity ass-kissing. What the fuck is the point of a community manager if they can't manage their community?

I think I've done one level 9 mission and thought it was broken BS. 6-7 seems to be the sweet spot for me since I'm not a sweat. I would probably play more if they didn't keep nerfing the guns I liked. It's supposed to be a power fantasy, let us have ridiculously powerful weapons.

I remember something similar happened to Dead by Daylight where they made a dev play against some bullshit strat/character.
He got completely raped into submission, on camera, by something he had stated was fine before. The humiliation was so great they finally issued some nerfs afterwards.
We could've had this in Helldivers but redditors are subhuman niggercattle as always.

Why does every game whose 'community' congregates around Reddit turn to absolute shit.
because of people like him:

Depends on where you go, but most of the map 10 insist so bad, but it does restrict your loadouts alot. Light pen is considered a throw, and having 2-3 guys with the fatah habibi exploding pack makes bases super easy to take care of.

We used to clear the tunnel bug maps really easily, once everyone puts on the robot it makes the mission trivial in most instances. But evidently its a different exp when you got two other friends who are on board, if theres 2 retards brining shit to a level 10 theyre going to get smoked.

Glazers are mad at the recent challenge issued for the devs to beat a hive world with bad weapons for charity, calling it bullying. So naturally, their response is to dox the issuer and try to get him fired from his job.

Apart from the fact this is a really fucking retarded thing to do and makes all glazers look bad, they're literally doing a "leave the multi million dollar company alone!" I hope this only hurts them in the long run.
rdrama level of lunacy. i hope they die to colon cancer

Now that I think about it a bit more, I can theorize at a possible rationale our ignoble retards had.
>I like the game at high difficulties!
>If Arrowhead devs play the game at high difficulties and get bodied because of an adversarial challenge from someone who DOESN'T like the game at high difficulties, they might nerf the challenge down!
>WE'RE UNDER ATTACK, KILL THIS NIGGA IMMEDIATELY
And then they go the fake and gay route of bombarding the man's workplaces with threats and here we are.
I'm being charitable in my assumption that these 'people' are, in fact, good enough to power through the high difficulties, because the alternative of them just sucking Arrowhead off and not even being competent enough to handle the top half of the difficulty slider is too pathetic to imagine.

Iirc Halo under 343 is notorious for this.

I lurked the Deadlock Discord server for patch notes before they started pushing them to Steam and it was neat, one channel would argue which characters are trans, another would post yuri porn and main would analyze what the Talmud commands regarding the enslavement of goyim.
It's supposed to be a power fantasy
Someone hasn't played Inner Circle of Hell in a Cyborg planet in Helldivers 1, they spawn more Hulks than there are stars in the sky. You feel new ridges in your colon that you didn't even know were there.
Although the scales of balance should be tipped with stronger weapons, but a FUCKTON of enemies spawning at higher difficulties, I don't care if the graphics make it too demanding for consoles.

While this situation is stupid, blah blah blah, lip service so you don't misunderstand my words as justifying this stupidity. I am tired of people playing a game for only a few hours constantly saying something is too hard when I know for a fact that players can consistently clear it with limited resources, low tier equipment, doing it solo, all kinds of self imposed challenges. The reality is that people like this just like to give up and complain when any level of mastery is required of them.

Devs also don't need to be able to beat their own games. Hideki Kamiya isn't the greatest Bayonetta player and would test his games in slow motion sometimes to accomodate his lesser reaction time. I also know the dust force devs also haven't cleared their own hardest stages single segment but would instead use dev tools to save state and make sure each obstacle was possible. People have to accept that the skill floor might be too high for them sometimes and either improve or realize that content isn't made for them. Because if we don't do that there'll never be content for those upper levels of players that'll ever be satisfying. Just my humble gamer opinion.

If anyone's curious where this is coming from you can go to any steam forum or negative reviews and you'll see the same entitled sentiments spammed endlessly by people who want games catered to their level of skill despite there being tons of games that offer that. And we know what happens when games are designed for these people, we get bad games.

Getting such a wave of reddit retard shit thrown at the two places that they could no longer function. I honestly don't think they care about the dev challenge.
Not buying it whatsoever. Even if the redditards bombing his workplace did accuse him of actual crimes, an employee of seven years isn't getting fired on the spot because of that. There would be some kind of investigation, and he would ultimately keep his job due to the over-the-phone accusations being found fake and gay. Just like this story.

I don't know which janny edited my other post for reddit spacing, but here's some more for you to clean up for free.

I mean, this is my rough reasoning for both sides-ing it. Helldivers community has two equally retarded opposing sides: a) BAWWW GAME UNABALNCED ARROWHEAD MUST FIX and b) NOOO MUH HECKIN PERFECT DEVERINOS DON'T CRITICISE ANYTHIGN

I find the first just as pathetic as the second. What is the point of ten difficulties if the maximum one only just barely gets into "okay this is a fair challenge". I'm the kind of player who grew up on Doom wads where the maximum difficulty is supposed to be retardedly difficult. I don't see it as a bad thing. These guys do, because they can't handle not winning.

Bug fixing is a different matter, but when you scratch under the surface, it's never just legitimate bugs people are complaining about.

Some additional missing context which makes the situation worse:

After Key_Complex_150 proposed the original challenge, another person made another post which upped the ante and offered another $1000, but only if the devs did the challenge with absolutely dogshit loadouts, and only if they could manage to fully clear an entire operation.
This was blatantly more of a 'fuck you' challenge, and even top players would've struggled doing it.

Now, because this new challenge was more of a troll challenge that would've just resulted in the devs being railed and suffering, and is 100% not possible for the devs who we already know aren't good at the game, some 'people' felt that it wasn't made in good faith.

They felt that the issuer of the challenge was basically trying to goad the devs into suffering for entertainment, because not taking the challenge would mean no charity money would be given.

This train of thought gave rise to the idea the the issuer was "holding the charity money hostage" just to fuck with the devs.

With the above in mind, these 'people' set out to dox and harass the issuer, calling his place of work and the like to screw him over. And here's the kicker: they doxed the first guy, not the person who made the additional challenge, meaning they doxed the wrong person for the wrong reason.
Either way, they ruined someone's life over a fucking video game. OMG, somebody made an unserious $1000 bet, better get him banned from the place he's volunteered for 15 years and fired from his job of 7 years, we did it reddit.

These people should neck themselves, I mean that seriously and unironically.

If you have a reddit account they should drop you off in a Safari to be hunted for sport.

>some anonymous schizophrenic can call your workplace and say you did something about a game on the internet and you will be fired the same week without cause
do americans really

Shit like this makes me glad I have never bothered with Helldivers 2

Imagine how weird that call would be.

"Hi one of your employees made fun of the balancing and dev team of Helldivers 2"
-"What?"

Reddit delenda est

We all know it is actually something like

"Did you know that one of your employees cruelly harassed hardworking devs and made them fear for their lives? Possibly to the point of threatening suicide?! And that he also insinuated he might bring a gun to the workplace soon!?"

Redditors are pathological liars and they know normies barely factcheck anything and are only concerned with avoiding a PR disaster for their businesses. It is obviously sociopathic behavior but reddit culture seems to enjoy rewarding these.
How deliciously ironic.

Redditors doing one of the things they condemn the Farms for, but in poor fashion for a video game challenge that would go towards charity.

Oh but it is OK when they do it because....

Idk, we don't care when someone says nigger or tranny here, that's about it.

Normies just know us, that is when they know us at all, as the guys that picked on Chris chan and that talk about how weird trannies are (all based on things they publicly posted themselves). Meanwhile reddit is that oh so helpful site with helpful posts, usually having been made a long time ago, so when they paint us as the devil, normies quickly believe it

In the end, it all comes down to schizos vs psychos, with normies caught in the middle like usual

A user, Key_Complex_150, issued a challenge where he wanted the developers of the game to play on the hardest difficulty on a mission mode known for being difficult, poorly designed, and glitchy. In exchange, he would donate $1,000 to any charity if the devs succeeded.
Based, this is a direct result of that McDonalds CEO trying his own McArch and small-biting it. Fuck all leadership, if we have to eat da bugz then you have to play against them on 10 with fucking pistols.

I still can't start my own missions past 4 because the unlock conditions never worked and I refused to beg for a personal ticket fix on Discord.
