unhinged level of dev worship and zealous ass-kissing from media talking heads, social media and mainstream fandom spaces over the last ~3-5 years.
You would not believe how hard it is to get some people to realize "maybe the devs aren't that smart, or just lied about this thing totally being intended".

It's especially bad with Japanese devs and weeb fandoms.

As in they'd literally trample the Helldivers because something sneezed behind the Guard's line causing them to break ranks and flee blindly, their Commissar firing at their retreating backs in a futile attempt to maintain squad cohesion...
Heartbreaking: Galactic War effort going so poorly that esteemed Commissar Rapius Pedophilo Orphanmulcher Incesto the 87th, Blessed by The Emperor and The Turkroach’s Own Son, actually had to shoot at the enemies instead of his own men

Helldivers are not grunts. They're elite, genetically enhanced supersoldier shock-troops.
They're not grunts, but they are just normal guys. They have no fancy special super soldier enhancements, they are just the most fanatical and suicidally brave Super Earth has to offer. In 40k terms, they are something more like Stormtroopers/Scions. In real life terms, they're the SAS Commandos/Navy Seals or whatever.

The difference is that Super Earth doesn't create these guys with intensive training, it just allows people who are crazy enough to volunteer. That self-selects for dangerous bastards. Every single time you die is canon. They have a pretty much 100% fatality rate.

It's pretty metal if you ask me. I don't know why you'd insist on having it be a capeshit (literally lol) power fantasy instead.

There is also a nonzero amount of people who died in the tutorial because they couldn’t figure out how to use the stims (both in and out of universe)

The robots already fulfilled the niche of humanoids (combat-wise) but are more threatening, aesthetically coherent, and make more sense for the concept.
Their theme does get pretty diluted compared to the godless machines and literal bugs. As the illuminati they are supposed to be the machiavellian puppet masters of the game, but the concept gets stretched thin when it has to encompass cthulu mindflayers, zombies, grey alien saucers, and war of the worlds tripods.

They're basically just the Yuuzhan Vong.

Judging from how rare it is for me to get teammates when playing pubs in HD2, I'm starting to think HD2 fans don't play their game either. They're kinda like Touhou fans in that regard.
Secondaries are a major problem in any fandom to be fair, lots of easily digestible fan content to keep people satiated without ever touching the original source.

he wanted the developers of the game to play on the hardest difficulty on a mission mode known for being difficult, poorly designed, and glitchy. In exchange, he would donate $1,000 to any charity if the devs succeeded.
The refusal to get completely and rightfully shit on for a good cause is bug man behavior.

This shit was a vibe check to see if the devs are human and like interacting with their userbase.
They fucking failed and let their rabid reddit retards make the entire userbase look insane.

Eternal Reminder:
Helldivers 1 > redditdivers 2

I don't even play Helldivers but I want to excommunicate Redditors from any community

>I like the game at high difficulties!
>If Arrowhead devs play the game at high difficulties and get bodied because of an adversarial challenge from someone who DOESN'T like the game at high difficulties, they might nerf the challenge down!
>WE'RE UNDER ATTACK, KILL THIS NIGGA IMMEDIATELY
The older I get, the more I realize nerds were outcasts for a very good reason. Anyone who gets a big dick over being good at vidya games is more than likely an insufferable twat who deserves to be bullied.
This profligate dares question the will of Democracy?
Their game sucks, their lore sucks, their guns suck, their shtick sucks.
The ongoing PR that puts them on the same tier as 40K Guardsmen has been one of the most vomit-inducing campaigns I've ever seen.
A squad of Cadians, the Kreig, or the Catachans would destroy multiple waves of Helldivers
The "Super Democracy" meme feels like the result of Sweet Baby, Inc. saying, "we need an inclusive, anti-fascist counter-signal to the appealing militarism of 40k and Starship Troopers".

Update from the challenge guy.

Not only was he banned from the horse sanctuary he worked at because of glazers threatening them, but he got fired from his job too.

Redditors actually ruined this dude's life because he asked Arrowhead to play their own game.

I hope Arrowhead tries to do the right thing by this guy. I don't know what was said to get him fired from the company he's worked at for 7 years.
