Oh my fucking god.
They couldn't figure out a way to move the shovel from the support slot to the secondary slot so they just added a new one.
If the new shovel has the same stats as the old one, then that just means they copy-pasted the code into the secondary folder and paywalled it.
If that's the case I'm going to be so pissed.

The older I get, the more I realize nerds were outcasts for a very good reason. Anyone who gets a big dick over being good at vidya games is more than likely an insufferable twat who deserves to be bullied.
The people I enjoy playing this game with the most are the little cadre of people I've met through the game and will laugh together about how stupidly we are dying from bringing meme builds on high difficulty missions.

"Guys, I'm being overwhelmed at the landing point"
"I'm going to throw in some orbital napalm"
"Do NOT throw that orbital napalm."
"I just threw it in, right on the beacon, try not to die."
"LMAAAAOOOOO YOU JACKASS"

I love this game.

It is reddit drama. Everyone involved is a retarded faggot that deserves whatever happens to them.

OP faggot got fired after being a faggot on reddit. Good. That should happen to everyone that participates in Reddit.
First based take I’ve seen here

They managed to dox him because he posted his private information on reddit, it's more of an insane cancel culture problem.

It's both. It is a fascist EU, but the messaging and FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY etc are all pure Iraq/Afghanistan era 'Murrica.

Basically way I see it, it's making a point about how you can end up with the same result no matter which side of the political compass you think you start off from.
That's one interpretation of many that you can apply, and one that's certainly interesting.

It looks fine but the backpack weapons have been incredibly underpowered compared to just using a supply pack and any other weapon.

You're getting very little benefit for a huge trade-off. These weapons are not worth using. I have a feeling the flamethrower will have the same issue.
The most fun use case for the flamethrower is flying around with the hover pack and pretending you're Boba Fett. I have no idea what would compel them to release a flamethrower that makes this impossible, fire is not good enough anymore to justify losing a backpack slot. Maybe pre nerf.

Longer range, it seems like.

I'd hope it would be longer along with a general range boost to every single weapon like it whether it throws flame or fart gas. It's practically the reason they're near unusable in their current state, and it's pretty silly when everybody should know damn well by now that flamethrowers even back in the day could reach out decently far- you should be able to flamethrower at least as far as you can throw a grenade, but practically speaking you're trying to use a TF2 Pyro flamethrower in not nearly the same sort of environment and with significantly fewer hitpoints.
The design choices just rack up in being astoundingly bad the further you go. The range is so awful, so it's a short range powerhouse, right? Well, no, fire doesn't cause any fear, so if you use it against bugs instead of being hit with a normal claw you end up being hit with a claw that's on fire. If you haven't prepped the pilot light you also have to wait a critical second before your weapon starts firing, and at close range you don't have that time. The fire is good damage over time though, isn't it? Except the range is so shitty that you can't kite something and let the fire do its work. It's neat aesthetically, but a catastrophe mechanically.
It's not that fire is even bad, incendiary grenades and the hot dog work great, as does napalm call-ins and the disposable launcher, but compared to anything else in their slot the flamers/projectors are just dead weight.

The flamethrower is the biggest disappointment here. It's actually a useless weapon that fills no niche because there is a better version for free that doesn't consume a backpack slot and an even better version in an already good warbond that doesn't consume your support weapon slot. All of these flamethrowers are functionally identical with the exception of magazine size. Insult to injury; the Scorcher in addition to being a primary actually carries more total ammo in its several reloads over the regular flamethrower. If there was a game that needed an actual directed-jet-of-napalm flamethrower it was this game.

I don't ever remember the flamerhrower being useful. It may have been on some of the specific bug missions but I remember taking it more for the cool factor than it actually being at all useful.

AH are crowds that won't jack up the flame damage so EVERYTHINGS burns and dies.

At the very least being on fire should cause bugs/bots/squids to do a little spaz out dance ( maybe not bots) sort of like the gas but don't attack each other.

I ran around on D10 with the new double barrel, ultimatum, jet pack, and the siegebreaker while wearing the not-DOOM armor. Probably one of the biggest meme builds I've ever done. God was it not good, especially since the fire robots can one shot you pretty easily, but holy shit was it fun. Jetpacking to hulks and one shotting them with the seigebreaker is incredibly satisfying. Works great against Fleshmobs to.

Be4 reading this I would not even have considered it a possibility to be doxxed and harassed over some video game criticism.
Wait until you find out how insane the children's cartoon fans are. They've been doing this for well over a decade now.

I'm already pissed because the under barrel flamethrower is yet another paid weapon that would've been perfect to just add to the lackluster customization system. Arrowhead doesn't get nearly enough shit for leaving it half baked for ages now

This warbond flamethrower (and the base game ones tbh) would be worthwhile if they actually stunned the enemies or made them stagger back if they get too close while you're focusing fire on them. But they don't and you can literally see in the trailer that the chainsaw fuckers just keep walking at you unbothered; means those annoying faggot bugs will just continue to jump at you from a football field away and swipe 50% off your health while ignoring a point blank jetstream of fire to the face.

Helldivers is one of the few games where enemies lit on fire don't panic for some reason, that's like one of the big things about fire in videogames. It would be interesting to have different factions and enemies react differently, like the bots and voteless not giving a fuck, but it's not intentional with how it is in the game right now. Legit they can buff fire if they added enemy panic when lit on fire.

Bugs should probably behave the same as when they're gassed when they're on fire but the swede logic is probably "but if they panic and stab their friends while on fire then what differentiates the status effect from gas?" without thinking "lol fart cloud. lol they're on fire in the fart cloud."
