Time to really grind out my third room. I need my dedicated breeding line room now.

Here you go.

E: Speaking of, is it a good time to return yet? Vox engine spam made me put down the game again for a bit.
I personally don't like fighting Illuminates, but still did some 8s and 9s with the new content. They added factions to the illuminate, so you'll get planet with flags for them also. The flag with only horde enemies was surprisingly fun, but it's gone for now.

Nothing is as bad as Vox Engine spam, so, at the very least, give it a try.

The Squid Riddler Bots are... not terrible.

Whats the best way to take out squid mechs?
Shoot the cockpits with any Medium AP gun, the MG-43 works really well, I haven't tried Anti-Tank but I'm sure it'll do the job. Their whole body is weak to Medium AP from what I've seen, just keep that in mind.

The three glowing eyes on top of the chassis are also a good weak spot for machine gun fire.

This is going to sound like a meme but the new heavy flamethrower.
I don't know if it's intended or a bug, but the illuminate shield bubbles don't work on fire, and the cremator is heavy pen, so you flash cook the squid in the scrotum cockpit in like two to three seconds at most.

To slightly amend my previous post, the best loadout for new squid faction/planet MO is:

MG Backpack
HMG/Speargun
Gatling Sentry
Strafing Run

The Speargun gas makes the mechs fuck off for a hot second, and can one shot the glowy weakspot on the melee one. Not the best for pruning their limbs in my experience, since both mechs can lose an arm and keep going. HMG on full RPM however shreds them and is still a reliable joint remover for Harvesters. That's the trade-off though -- you can pretty quickly 2 shot a harvester if you hit it in the same joint with a speargun, but gas aside it's just okay for dealing with mechs, whereas the HMG can facefuck both mech variants but you gotta take a little extra time and aiming effort to get rid of a harvester.

The gatling sentry doesn't get one shotted by the melee mechs and their swipe attacks, and if the mechs don't have backup the sentry can actually solo a fair few of them since they're weak to medium pen.

Strafing run deals with the unending conga line of the little floaty fuckers and doesn't get cockblocked by the trees like nearly every other airstrike; however I might swap out the strafing run for a cluster bomb on a biome without those fucking giant trees just to see if it works better. It works wonders on mechs when they bunch up.

MG Backpack may have limited ammo and take its fucking sweet time to lock on to enemies and work when it feels like it, but when it does decide to work it just completely removes the hassle of those little floater fuckers. Still shits on both overseer types, too. The laser rover isn't bad but it just doesn't deal with them fast enough IMO. I haven't tried the flame or gas backpacks, and I obviously don't use the tesla backpack because I don't want to get kicked on sight.

If the game's flame mechanics weren't still hot garbage (intended) then I'd say use the Cremator, but they are still shit and having to use flame resistant armor and give up that precious backpack slot just isn't worth it to me personally.

Kills obviously don't mean much compared to actually doing the mission objectives, but I can again guarantee that you'll be racking up 400-600 kills per game with this loadout with minimal effort.

For me it's Sweeper, HMG, Guard Dog and eagle/orbitals to taste. Mostly use gattling barrage and 500kg. (Ultimatum goes without saying)

I was sleeping on the guard dog but yeah, it frees you up a lot from having to worry about the watchers (and voteless hordes on regular Illuminate). Which was my biggest problem against Illuminate really, I always felt like I had to take the Stalwart or similar anti-horde secondary, and then that left the rest of the loadout feeling gimped, but this allows you to use a more well rounded kit.

Typically been wearing the Light Gunner armour for this. Lots of viable choices for grenade too which is nice, instead of being stuck to the thermite or incendiary impact.

Who the fuck let the spawn rates get broken this time? I have no issue with the new illuminate units but what the fuck happened with the newest patch? There weren't this many heavies on Seasee a few days ago. Especially the Harvesters.

Spamming heavies doesn't make combat more intense and fun it just makes it tedious.

Still better than war striders though.

Giving the Voteless and Fleshmobs their own subfaction along with the appropriators was a good idea. From what I've been hearing, the illuminate are going to get much more... modular, if that's the right word. Great Host, Masses, Appropriators, Clergy, Cultists, ect. Basically a bunch of subfactions wrapped up in a trench coat. It might be cool to make the old vanguard fleet before HoD a subfaction too.

Bit of drama brewing with the contentsloppers. I've been watching Thumper for a bit, and his videos are glazediving for sure, but I can appreciate some positivity towards the game.

His biggest takeaway is that creators like deltagreg, ohdough, and thiccfila generate unnecessary division and sow more toxicity in the HD2 community. They will blackpill players against content, attack Arrowhead for the community/outsourcing content creation and balancing, and repeatedly spam videos about drama. He also called out OhDough for blaming the game for bricking his computer, which he says is impossible.

Funny thing of note is, he assigns the two factions to a political system; crydivers are on the Left, glazers on the Right, while he is God's strongest centrist.

I pretty much agree about those creators intentionally being negative about the game. I avoid those guys because regardless of how valid or not their points are (some of them are pretty fair criticisms) the way they go about it just repels me. It's that self-righteousness. They want to be the ones who are most important here, they want to be the people who are in control of The Discourse. They want the status and the power. In other words, they are doing it for clout.

As soon as I sniff that, it instantly turns me off a person.

In the video he's not saying one is the left and one is the right; he's saying it has the same divisive dynamic. Valid observation I think. But the criticism does mirror the holier-than-thou posturing of liberal lefty scolds. It's a lot easier to garner attention and influence by criticising something, and in that sense they are copying the strategies of identity politics/culture war grifters. The thing that tips you off it's a grift is the same- If they were to actually get what they want, the goalposts would shift; there will always be some new thing to criticise, because they want to keep up the grift.
