The stratagem launcher pisses me off the most. It's like they're intentionally not adding it.

Mech customization could be really useful. They could give you two mechs to customize and pick at any time. You can pick from a variety of arm options as well as a support weapon on top or a stratagem launcher.

Every time they introduce something new they let it languish. And from the recent Q&A they don't seem interested in innovating systems that have been in the game for years and haven't been updated. Weapon customization is a joke. They keep adding new guns that should just be customization options like the underbarrel grenade launcher. Ship upgrades haven't had an update in over a year.

Arrowhead's latest announcement had over 11k thumbs down on the post in their discord.

They removed the thumbs down. If you're in the discord, make sure to add another downvote. Because fuck em'.

I was banned from the discord a long time ago because I criticized the furry shit. Honestly it wouldnt surprise me if anyone who voted thumbs down would start getting swept by the jannies. But its not worth being in the discord at this point if they're doing shit like this.

I haven’t played this game in a long time but I like to keep up with the drama that seems perpetually surrounding it.

Is Oh Dough regarded as the leader of the detractor YouTubers who make Reddit and discord sycophants seethe? His videos are always entertaining to watch to see how retarded these Swede cucks are and how they continue to fuck up their game.

They call ohdough a shitter and bad at the game but he releases videos of him soloing D10. I don't know how you can criticize his ability to play the game. These glazedivers are fucking retarded.

The thing is, D10 isn't even that hard. The problem with the armor change is that it makes an enemy immune to half the weaponry for no reason or value, which makes it tedious instead of intense like something like buffing spawn rates. His detractors just act like it's insurmountable and impossible for him to do D10 alone like there isn't video evidence to the contrary.

I see more cope from the same group about him. Some say he shouldn't offer balance suggestions because he only does D10 solos (he doesn't), he only plays bugs (he prefers bots and does all three factions anyway), or that he can't aim (he is a top rank player in multiple modern shooters).

Yesterday I saw somebody lecturing multiple critics of the update about how they don't understand the dev's philosophy behind difficulty, and people found out the guy only plays D7. These are the people calling critics like Oh Dough bad.
 
Whenever I see game or game franchise turn to shit I rarely see the argument that the team that works behind the game (content, balance, updates, direction) changes with time.

I understand that company wants to save money and use corporate tactics (milling the workforce) to increase efficiency, but time and time again it shits itself long-term due to lack of quality, vision and passion.

Also I was sure from the start that frequent flow of warbonds will make the game bloated and hell to balance out. Imagine recommending the game to friends right now with 20+ warbonds to choose from and progress.

Another thing i noticed is lack of commitment towards playerbase with the game direction. They flip flopped between grunt realism and horde clearing fantasy.

I hate how they balance shit tho. Make it hard, make them aimbot like reflexes - I am fine with it. But bloating HP and making You fight 20 of big automaton fuckers at once limits your kits and is just not fun.

FFS add more creative enemies.
Give bugs some disrupting enemies, like for example roachlike bug (starcraft 2) that moves underground and pops up on last position it has seen you, or some flying fucker that limits your vision via spores. (Forcing you to move your lazy napalming ass)
I was hopefull that the Illuminate will get creative enemies as well. Like fuckers that forces you to suicide if you're caught alone. Mayby support that reverses both your inputs and movement from time to time.

For all its worth Helldivers 1 is really better right now. Having one screen and team mechanics promotes teamplay much better, and creates more fun scenarios to be remembered. (why would You try that in HD2 when You can be one man army)

Paradox does the same spite driven balancing sometimes.
The only studio that I know of that has mostly avoided this was Ghostship with deeprock, and even then they have their own little problems (making 5 different games instead of focusing content on the one big success)

Its the disconnect between that Arrowhead made a fun game using a decommissioned engine and then just fucks it up with balance. Like the animation, the models, the (base) gameplay, the story, EVERYTHING felt fresh and new when the game splashed onto the scene....and the devs keep fucking up and fighting the player base. Like how do you get 90% there and then so nahhhhhhhhh, lets ruin it.

wikis have without a doubt made game design worse because of how they incentivize datamining and autistic information gathering over designing your game to inform you about mechanics through it's own gameplay. Now it's "check the wiki" type of development. Want to know the weakspots on the mechs? Don't shoot the glowing parts, those are FAKE HEATSINK TEXTURES> Instead, shoot the JOINT that's 1% of the overall silhouette you're aiming at.
