A fellow lolcow-chronicling friend of mine (albeit one from a different site) suggested that the location data behind the host matches up to Owens.

Now, in all fairness, I've heard this before, around the time people were accusing Brianna Wu of editing the Samus article on Wikipedia (it was KadyBat, who admitted it).

I personally doubt this is true - but I'm going to look into it anyway. Just to be sure. Like you said, sometimes a pickle is just a pickle.

EDIT: Thought so - it looks cold. All evidence shows Owens is Connecticut area, and the hosting thus far seems to be in NY.

It is just a shitty callout site and it will go horribly wrong. That it managed to get mentioned by HuffPo and Breitbart makes me curious about who is behind it though. They're not likely to randomly notice a callout site, so it's probable someone let them know about it. For some reason, they're willing to promote it on an anonymous basis, which strongly suggests they know who is behind it and it isn't someone either site wants to shred (they'd be shrieking about it being an awful idea otherwise).
