So I noticed the entire Hellraiser series is on Netflix, and against my better judgement, I'm marathoning the whole thing. I'm aware the franchise pretty much turns to shit after the second one, so wish me luck, I guess.

Although, all told, Pinhead's my favorite movie monster. He's pretty much a force of nature. Plus he's got some pretty boss one-liners.

I've only seen the first two which were really good gothic horrors. The first one is my favourite but a lot of people like the second one which is very ambitious and full of nice visuals. I especially love the music by Christopher Young (who also did the score for Flowers in the Attic).

Hellraiser features one of the most horrific images to be on film. The "Zombie" version of the dead guy (when he originally comes back to life, before the big killings).

In fact, Hellraiser was just so bizarre and complex. I never saw any past the first because I'm such a huge admirer of practical effects but I don't need more startling images than what the original gave me. I made it through the bizarre Freddy Krueger world for the first four installments, I don't want to do the same for Hellraiser.

The first is excellent, the second is very good with some odd stuff, and it goes completely off the rails after that.

I'll be curious to see if someone can talk Clive Barker into being involved in another film in the franchise if The Scarlet Gospels turns out as well as is hoped.

I thought this thread was about this for a second.
