Helltaker - By Vanripper.

Finished the DLC, had to cheat on the last puzzle stage, since I just get caught in a pattern and waste my time. The biggest problem in the DLC is the lasers, I've never see a video game lasers give such little grace period and coupled with how disorienting it is when they start alternating (meaning you need to jump into the path of the ones that are charging) it makes the final boss way harder than it needs to be.
 
OK, so now I have two games in my Steam library that have a character who's a monotheistic-god-worshipping red-eyed abomination-creating mad scientist named Loremaster.

I did not expect that to happen today.

I'll probably get around to doing the DLC this weekend, but goddamn Van Ripper stop releasing all of this waifu bait.

Look at this dude claiming he's the Resident Helltaker Enthusiast but couldn't beat the final boss. pffft.

It's hard as balls but definitely doable. If you can memorize the attack pattern then all it takes is some endurance and a bit of elbow grease. It honestly can't be that hard when there are dudes saying on the steam forums they beat the boss in under an hour.

He's got the hook baited hard this time: Two of the girls in maid outfits. Oh, and of course:

Azazel not only fallen but a mad scientist archdemon with mechanical arms.

If she could just work some squats into her busy schedule she could beat Doom's Cyberdemon in the metal-and-hellflesh booty stakes.

Everything except the difficulty spike
Cons:

Holy FUCK is the sequel DLC hard, i literally had to throw in the towel and accept the fact that my reflexes and time to play video games is not what it used to be and gave up on the last boss, but overall the DLC is satisfying as hell.


In retrospect to this thread: it feels almost surreal to come back to this thread a year later with an ACTUAL sequel to the game, i never once excepted a game with one off quality to actually make a sequel, let alone make one thats just as good as the original.

God damn Vanripper is built different, TWO S tier releases in a row, thats nuts.

I'm sort of waiting for the Twitter comics to continue. I wonder if the current arc is going to be maintained (with new levels of dramatic irony) or if it's going to jump to continuing the EX plot. Or if after a year of this Vanripper's finally looking to do something else with his free time.
 
The DLC was pretty hard, though the boss wasn't as much of an issue once you let your monke brain take over. As much. The artillery was still a bitch.

Loremaster Azazel is pretty awesome, though I'd like to imagine she took over hell because no-one actually really ever listened to Lucifer.

I mean, Justice probably would, but this whole thing ended with Lucifer in a maid outfit, so she probably doesn't care.

The only thing that's missing is the denizens of Heaven freaking out over what the Loremaster did...That is, if they're still alive.

I'm pretty proud of myself for not looking up a guide for any of the puzzles. They're honestly harder than the boss, which is just pattern recognition and muscle memory for the most part. I really like the designs for the new characters.

Top notch dlc!

Honestly i'm glad its even made it that far, Helltaker being officially recognized was a win for me.

However.... i won't be content until BEST GIRL Zdrada gets a Nendo, then i will be happy.
