Help me pick a doge

What type of dog should I get?

I love those little Japanese dogs. Good luck getting your hands on one though. Realisticly I'd go with something like a Pomeranian or a Bichion Frise.
 
Dachshund, Corgi, Schnauzer or Vallhund. My Doxie was the best dog I ever had. He knew "ride, car, couch, chair, kennel, treat, and out" but I could never teach him to sit. He was smart, like problem solving smart, so we had to keep certain things secure or he'd figure out how to get into them.

I miss him.
