How did you come up with that conclusion? Kill yourself.
>hurrr durrrr I'm watching a non-moba first person fucking game with shitty uninspired characters. One of them the narrator has that shitty nigger haitcut. There's an overwatch Ice wall mei ability, mcree revolver fanshooting. A fucking valorant lava line cast ability from that nigger with the nigger cut. And fucking riding horses. And I think deadlock. A MOBA that is more third person arena shooter with fluid movement. If I have played the game or watched anything related to it, most of the time players are fucking airborne and constantly moving.
Huh? Every new game to a "new" subgenre of games will get compared to the best representation of that said genre, like extraction shooters get compared to escape from tarkov. Sadly, we do not have a lot of non-top-down MOBAs to compare other than deadlock. I said moba because the objective literally is going to enemy's base to destroy it, it even has the mounts from Heroes of the Storm. As for the movement, there were characters going airborne, leaping forward, etc though it may not be as in depth as deadlock. I guess the only thing missing in the trailer is ingame purchasable items that MOBAs have as a standard.

Well yeah, deadlock also has a character with the "ice wall mei ability", it's common thing among mobas and hero-shooters alike copying eachother.

Even the name is the most generic thing I have ever heard. This is going to flop so hard lmfao

Sci-fantasy, but without the awesome/retarded pulp attitude that gave birth to the genre.
You know why they called it "pulp" back in the day? Because it used cheap-ass rough paper as a means of penny-pinching. Pulp was that era's cheap mass-market slop, and it still manages to have more character than whatever this shit is.

You know, I would be more down with this, both game and setting, if the art style were more reflective of your Heavy Metal/John Carter/Conan the Barbarian 70s pulp. Like there's no reason this:

The sterile, cartoony Blizzard-style look just makes it feel generic.

I was poking fun of this game today with a friend and neither of us actually could remember the name.

We agreed it was "Highborne" but I said I didn't think that was right since people would make Battleborne comparisons. But then I recalled people doing just that, but as it turns out, that was just coincidence.

Anyway, have you seen "top level" Battleborne gameplay? It's legitimately 20 minutes of spamming projectiles down a choke point. Search for it on Youtube, it's honestly amazing people even tolerated it, even if it was just a dozen guys playing the game after a month. It reminded me of a common problem TF2's designers solved about avoiding stalemates so you don't spend 20 minutes spamming projectiles down a choke point.

I suppose that's one of two directions Highguard will go. You either are going to play a hallway spamming simulator or you're getting Concord molasses speed movement with years-long time to kill. Or both.

A lot of that science fantasy stuff was about hard people in hard lands doing hard things to survive. Nothing here is hard.

Modern Designers seem to be allergie to the concept of cool. Seriously, all modern characters seem to designed to be as uncool as possible.

Being the last reveal killed this game. That spot should've been for Divinity.

It worked for Blizzard when they were the first ones to do it. The question is: Copied because Blizzard is popular or copied because every faggot getting hired farted in Blizzard Entertainment making cartoony shit models that are parody even for World of Warcraft and then brought it over to other game companies like AIDS.

its on purpose, Cool and badass things (not the Randy Pitchford variant) are considered Chud, and thus not cool to them
this has been their aesthetic design for well over 2 decades now, its just getting more and more saturated in the market, both games, cartoons, and movies, they base their entire likes and dislikes, styles and aesthetics.. on the people they hate, who they talk about incessantly.

A big "own" for them is to turn things "Chuds" like into things they know chuds do not like, they brag about the subversion and pissing them off, and they take this to the logical extreme, they will do it in their own studios, tank the studio, and then either cry about it, or claim "its Capitalism's fault, and infact, ruining a Studio, is based".

everything has to look like its made out Foam, Gummybears or Plastic, that is just how they like it, because they know YOU don't like it.

That awful haircut of the first character shown reminded me of this sputum that EA coughed up a couple of years ago.

I wouldn’t blame you for being unfamiliar with it, given that it left no cultural impact even as a failure (a terrible, but well-deserved, ignominy for such bland, techofantasy, tripe)

Leave Techno-Fantasy to the Nips, they outperform them on those aesthetics in a cave with a box of scraps, Xenoblade series did more with less.
