I'm still subscribed to the schizo headcanon where he hated someone in the dev team enough that he spotlighted the game as way to kill in the most public fashion possible.
I think he just enjoyed a game most others don't. I've had that awkward experience (with a boardgame) of introducing a game I thought was amazing for game night just to end up being the only one enjoying it.

I paid maybe $15 for Rocket League like 10 years ago and have gotten hundreds of hours of entertainment from it. These games nowadays are so overproduced that they end up being for absolutely nobody. Rocket powered car soccer? Even the simplest retard could love - (me)

"The best fps to release in years dead in weeks cause of people who didn't even play the game."
Of course it's dead because nobody's playing the game. That's like a bum saying he's homeless because he doesn't have a house.

I don't understand why these retards always have to resort to hyperbole like this.

Just say you're sad a game you personally enjoyed failed; treating Highguard like some gaming renaissance when it was nothing but a bunch of generic ideas from other shooters tossed in a blender is actual madness.

Someone should get these people the memo that the hero shooter fad started by OW ended around 2018 and it only stays afloat due to porn.

It's funny how Geoff Keighley has been touted as the next Reggie or something, but for gaming in general. Wonder if this will the the straw that breaks the camel's back for him moment.
I know he's been a bit of a meme for awhile now, but it'd be funny if people finally stop hyping him up, or he just becomes ala Todd Howard and hated for helping to further destroy gaming.

They had a chance to capture a larger market after Keighley put it in the last spot of the show and they are still hemorrhaging bad, And to think they wanted to stealthily release it.
What knuckle dragging slope footed retard is behind the wheel here? They are a specimen that needs to be studied for how low human intelligence can reach without any brain defects.
A stealth release wouldn’t have saved it, it would just be less publicity embarrassing

Do people actually hype him up? At best he's treated as that one mainstream shill with a thin veneer of respectability, especially after the Dorito Pope incident. He's still around only because he didn't actively shit on his fans or reputation unlike the peers of his era.

I think you misunderstand me, I'm not saying that.
What I'm saying is that if they actually wanted to stealthily release it with their only marketing being some random TGA timeslot, then whoever is in charge is a drooling retard. Its so dumb I'm sure they smugly chuckled to themselves and thought this game is so awesome it'll spread to gamers and the money will roll in.
Instead, its abysmal dogshit and not even the second wind fate has given them saved it

"Hey guys, this game I worked on flubbed fucking HARD, anyways, can you hire me for level design plz??"
Holy fuck these are the most entitled faggots in the world.
Highguard got the Fleekazoid treatment.

How the fuck do these dipshits even get off lying so hard?
Even if you liked the game, the "best fps in years"??? you're making it too obvious you didn't even play this fucking garbage and only pretend to like it to own the chuds.
Except you're not owning shit, the entire internet is laughing at you seeing through the lies.

How many times does a game for "!MODERN AUDIENCES!" need to flop before they realize they're not catering to a modern audience?
Can't fucking wait for Horizon Hunting grounds or whatever the fuck it's called to fail it already has

There seems to be an inability where people struggle to admit that the thing they like is shit. Which is fine if you like it, but don't be surprised when people come along to make fun of it and you.

The way he kept posting about it on X, knowing full well how much people loved to hate on it, makes it feel like an elaborate joke.
He's either completely out of touch, which I don't believe, or feels like he's responsible for the disaster in some way, which is far more likely. And making positive posts while reminding people about the game was his way to salvage it. But it's way funnier to think of him as a grim reaper in this context, not that it even matters in the end.

Not even necessarily shit, but just something other people don't like. The amount of arguments I used to have with people after I told them I had no interest in watching Game of Thrones was unreal (but who had the last laugh there).
