that's not goth chunli, they stole one of the most famous manga female characters, Jolyne Kujo from Jojo's look for the initial black and whiteshit.

Jolyne is 9000% better character/design than that though. scz1n55fswzc1.png

That explains why it's at least a decent error page instead of the standard black-text-on-white-background-Times-New-Roman 500 Internal Server Error page.

Fun fact: that's a good giveaway that at least somebody (even if it's just an underpaid junior admin) gives a shit about a web site -- the various generic HTTP response code error pages get custom handlers and content so they don't look like complete dogshit.

Ah well, bravo to the outsourced junior webshit guy for actually doing your job. Glad somebody did.

But, clearly, Highguard was an indie game! Josh Sobel said so! If we don't play the corporate slop from Tencent, all that will be left are corporations like Tencent!

Now that we know the money being burned belonged to China, this trainwreck has become even funnier. Truly the gift that keeps on giving. Helpful Triad financial consultants are probably being deployed as we speak.

The discord link leads to a guild that doesn't play Highguard, the site admin didn't even care to double-check and accidentally linked the wrong server.

Edit: they fixed the link, now only the archive has the wrong one.

LOL, and there it is. After all of the "we're independent, we aren't a corporation like those other studios" they were funded by fucking Tencent of all people, who also has been financially backing The Game Awards, which means even if the Dorito Pope didn't get paid to post the trailer he was still tangentially financially involved with the Highguard Devs.

I wonder what that Josh Sobel retard thinks about how amazing the indie studio he worked for is now?

If he and the others weren't aware of it, then it's even more ironic. The studio completely lacked transparency just like any typical corpo.

Site is up till 9/14 they registered it back in 2025 so they bought it for a year plan.
Game will probably be dead by mid march and they're just lazily getting rid of the website.

Hold up, so they couldn't even be bothered to register the domain for more than a year because they had that little confidence in it that a 3 year didn't make sense at the time? All of what, $50? HAHAHA

This trailer alone is worth more than the entire game of Highguard
 
Ripping off and combining mechanics from every popular multiplayer shooter of the last 5-10 years into one soulless pile of slop, of course it's Chinese. Even the name is a ripoff of Overwatch.
