—"If you want to know the truth, Highguard failed because it was too good, actually"

I swear to good, Wildlight should have been a cult and not a studio. If the higher-ups had focused their ability to make retards drink the Kool-aid on the public instead of their employees, they'd be tax-exempt by now. I would pay good money for a documentary about this game's development.
The fact that the toxic positivity is still in effect after that dev was laid off and he still refuses to admit they made a bomb is incredible. The emperor's new legendary skin.
I won't waste time debating whether or not an auto-aim game that lacked an in-match scoreboard was "competitive" (it wasn't), but it's another example of the dev team being hopelessly blind to aspects of their own game that are patently obvious even to casual observers; Highguard is as much of a competitive game as it was an indie one.
Also, every sobbing interview and Twitter meltdown so far has involved some fucker from the art or HR teams. I again wonder if this is because other teams are less prone to dramatic outbursts or because the game was completely taken over by art people with overinflated egos and no real knowledge about game design.

Ok, one quirk about Unreal is that it's heavily geared towards making an FPS. In fact, outside of the multiplayer, the melee farming, and the horses; there's really isn't an lot of technical stuff to be done. Well, outside of setting up the character's abilities, but that's an different story.

So it shouldn't be that surprising if all we're seeing is the creative team bitching about how everyone hates their pet project

We did a deep dive on the intricate world of Highguard Lore. It's a special kind of shit. So I obviously reached out to write the official Highguard Tabletop Roleplaying Game for them because I just want to see what those internal lore documents look like.

At least if it dies miserably, we'll be able to make our own Highguard (tm) (c) (r) Content for all the future generations to look on in horrid confusion.

It's over. Highguard will shut down on March 12th

I think the bigger failure of Highguard that people are just as tired of Concord level bombs that it's not going to get same legacy of Concord

And the best part about it is that it could have been prolonged if the devs did a lot more than just releasing an fucking werewolf as the ninth playable character.

So it's safe to say that an furry actually killed an video game, for once
