Narcissism since that's what more or less stopped him getting good at anything, encouraged his laziness, cradled his entitlement, ect, ect.

As an autistic person, I can tell you his autism is the least of his problems. By far.

I'd say it's his naivety combined with his utter selfishness and refusal to take responsibility for his actions.

I'd second this, but I also think it's a lack of proper education on how the world actually works. Being autistic/Aspergian is not a sentence that ruins your life. You just need a little extra teaching re how to interact with your fellow human beings - teaching that Chris never got and would not be terribly receptive to anyway.

I already know it wont happen so save your typing finger, but jesus he would benefit so much from having at least one buddy to hang out with. Bouncing between women and the past is just bullshit. A good buddy or two is a game changer, man.

His loss.

That should have happened in adolescence, and it probably should have been his own gender. The gal pals was disastrous because it made him think girls were drawn to him naturally. He decided that men were of no importance to him, and he's been missing out on a lot of social activity and support that he could have used.

Not just to prove your point, that is the bonus...but i have put a lot of thought into that. Well, sort of. He has captured the attention and in a lot of ways the imagination of god knows how many people. Im not sure how he feels about that, or if he even understands it really, but for a guy in his position thats a huge "accomplishment". Against all odds, sonichu is famous. He gets free shit in the mail from strangers. He will never hear my name, never know i exist, but i will always remember his comics and antics and failures and successes.

For whatever his life isnt, he is doing something right.

I would go with his sense of entitlement, since it all stems from being taught that nothing was his fault, everything in life was owed to him from a very young age. His autism is a setback, granted, but I'm guessing that even without it, Chris would still most likely be just as much of a jackass. His parents taught him to use it as an excuse whenever he did something wrong, never got him the help he needed (in fact, they fought AGAINST the attempts to do so!), and thus creating the failure that we know and are fascinated by today.

Fame, by itself, is not an end goal, no matter what the world tells you.

If anything, Chris is the purest proof that fame alone gets you nothing. Don't think for a moment that he "did something right" just because he attracted a lot more attention than the average person.

He is, at best, a cautionary tale. But for who he is and what he wants his footprint is rather large.

OK bear with me here...

I'm curious about popular opinion here on our glorious forums.

What do you think Chris's biggest road-block on the path to what he considers happiness?

Himself. But if I had to pick one facet of his personality I would say his ego. If he would just learn a little humility, many of his problems would be easier to manage.

This is a tough one. I'm gonna go with a combination of laziness and Intelligence. Take for example his love quest. How he insists that the girl contact him first and that they meet up immediately in particular. Chris has been trying this approach for years and it has yet to work and I can't pick a single reason as to why he does this. Is it because hes too stupid to realize it will never work? Or is he too lazy to try something else thats possibly more proactive? Hell, there could even be a little autism thrown into the works there too even though I believe Autism is his smallest problem.

I'm leaning towards intelligence because laziness can actually be the birthplace of ingenuity. I remember reading an article about a guy who worked in such a way so that he was able to retire as a millionaire at 30. And he said his main driving factor was that he was lazy and didn't want to have to work for very long.

You ever been lounging on a couch and drop the remote or something and been too lazy to pick it up like a normal person? Remember the ridiculous shit you did to get it off the floor? Why? Because you knew you had to get it off the floor you just didnt want to compromise getting up from that couch.

Chris doesn't make that connection. He'd rather sit and watch the home shopping network for a whole afternoon and complain about how boring it is because it never occurs to him to at least find a way to get it off the floor so he can at least make the most out of being lazy. But that never even occurs to him.
