Supposedly, I'm descended from one of the many adopted children of Benjamin Franklin, which were really just kids he had with single women, and then adopted so the women wouldn't be treated like sluts. I'm also supposed to be related to Jacques Plante, first NHL goalie to wear a face-guarding mask on a regular basis, but not the first goalie to wear one, period.

Other than that, no one exciting that I've been made aware of.

That's better than being related to him through a cousin by marriage but the wife died before having kids with him (that, or she almost married him, I'm trying to remember).

I'm apparently related to Alexander Hamilton through my paternal grandmother's side, though.

The only famous person in my family is my uncle who was in the Blue Legion during WWII. He left his medals to my dad and my brother has them now. He was an absolutely fascinating person but I can't talk about him to anyone IRL for obvious reasons.

Well I am related to (((those people))), so dubious relations vary. On my Irish side, the claims depend on how drunk my dad is, claims include (semi-rationally) the filmmakers John Ford or John Huston, and (very drunk) John Wayne and Michael Collins.

There's been some claims on my maternal grandfather's side of the family that we're descendants of Davy Crockett. Looking it up it seems that his heritage was predominantly French while that side of my family is Danish-Cherokee (or something) so I'm not sure how true that is, but I think the idea that we're the offspring of some frontier dude who wore dead animals on his head and could perform amazing feats of skill is unsurprising.

To be fair, Crockett has a lot of descendants.
Have you seen a Davy Crockett family reunion?

My great great great great grandfather help made a village in Germany and named it after his last name, That’s all I got, I never really looked it in that further.
