Quick reminder that on the bottom of the adblock popup there's a little "Report an Issue" button that you can use to tell Youtube to fuck off with. It takes 0 time and effort to do so there's no excuse not to tell them to eat shit every time you see a popup.
Funnily, I tried using that button to send feedback just now, after getting the "3 strikes" popup, only for it to give me a "We could not send your feedback." message. It's not that I expect my message to do anything, but it's funny in a somewhat Kafkaesque way that the feedback itself doesn't work.
Didn't think of this until earlier today, but if you're worried about Google giving your account/gmail attached to it the ax for using an adblocker, why not create at least 1-2 backup accounts just in case they decide to go for the nuclear option?

I got like three other email accounts that will probably be fine.
The three strike pop-ups have stopped for now. Could be Google decided I "learned" my lesson or it was a bluff. Playing around with FreeTube because too many damn Youtubers (like Black Pants Legion) don't upload to Rumble or other video sharing sites.
I wonder what's the thought process behind this exactly? If someone's using an adblocker to get around to watching peoples' videos, then hitting them with a adblock cockblock won't suddenly make them want to watch videos with ads, this will only reinstate and have them dig further into finding ways on getting around the censors since they're a person who hates ads.
It's like that one parable of the Sun vs. The Wind; where whoever can get the man to take off his coat sooner wins, with the wind blowing harder and harder at the man while he grips tighter to his coat, whereas the Sun just shines brightly and warmly to the man who decides he no longer needs his coat. Youtube's anti-adblock is like the wind and we are the man gripping the coat.
So far, this hasn't happened to me, but now I'm worried. I'm sure you guys already know this, but Youtube insists that it won't budge on this. There are certain channels I like and it's going to suck to not have access to them anymore because of this shit. I wish certain creators would move to other websites. This fucking sucks...
Youtube is determined to kill itself over the small percentage of people who block their bullshit ads who don't have the extra $15 bucks to pay premium.
I got hit with the "adblock" notice on youtube the other day. I was quite surprised, as I've never had them detect my blocking in all the time I have been blocking ads. Something has definitely changed, and not for the better.
If Youtube wants to go this route then just remember what the website has become. There is almost nothing worth watching on youtube anymore and it has become so censored and milquetoast that even cable television is more controversial with the content it delivers. There are loads of alternative platforms out there and I'm even seeing good things still being produced over at NewGrounds. If you have to use youtube then just use Freetube like everyone else here has suggested. A lot of content creators upload their videos to multiple websites. You can still find them, you'll just have to do what we did in the past before we had all these one stop shop websites... Surf the web.

I have the extra $15. I refuse to pay it out of pure spite. I would rather rip $15 in cash into little pieces every month and then eat it than give it to YouTube.
i miss a time when it was just a 15 second skippable ad in the beginning and end of a video, now it's two 30 second unskippable ads every 5 minutes, it's insane
