I first noticed I was hit by Youtube's Adblocker detection since last Saturday. First it was a white overlay that I could immediately click away. Then it came a white overlay with a timer. Last night it was the "three strike". Today it is this:

Youtube.png
Black overlay that cannot be blocked or clicked away. And of course, no video.

I've been looking high and low for a solution but to no avail, None of the uBlock Origin filter works. Does anyone know of a way around?

1. Whitelisting Youtube is NOT AN OPTION. Google is evil and is behind the rapist Liz Fong-Jones.
2. GreaseMonkey / TemperMonkey + Anti-AdBlock Killer does not work. That shit has not been updated since 2021 I think.
3. I can use a third-party site to download whatever I am interested in, but I hope there is a more hassle-free solution.

Any leads?

Very few people have experienced been experiencing this, so no counter-measure has been established yet AFAIK. You might need to use another browser/device/IP and wait until the uBlock Origin people find a way around it.
Alternatively you could maybe try AdNauseam. I do believe that it doesn't block ads per se, it even clicks on them, but you won't see it.

And yeah I heard that Google was linked to Liz Fong-Jones which apparently is a transvestite rapist. Terrible. Don't give money to those people.

Try yt-dlp. If you have some more time on your hands, install mpv and then this line to the config
script-opts=ytdl_hook-ytdl_path=[path-to-your-yt-dlp-exec]/yt-dlp.exe

That way you can just go into the command prompt, type mpv [youtube url] and the video will play in mpv. No account shit, no ads, nothing.

Otherwise for an easier time try freetube, although since it uses invidious instances it ends up breaking a fair amount for me.

Slightly off topic, but did these faggots seriously write "allowlisted" in that notice?

Jesus Christ, god forbid we say "whitelisted" or "blacklisted"... I remember seeing that brick-faced chink faggot Liz Fong-Jones saying "denylisted" a while back, and I thought "hopefully nobody except the faggiest of faggots will take that seriously and make this a thing".

I should have known that in current year, it was inevitable that this would become a thing. I hate this fucking clown world.

Anyway, on topic, a combination of ublock origin and privacy badger with strict filtering has always worked for me, OP.

Just installed Privacy Badger. Does not work with default setting (I can't find the "strict filtering option"). Thanks all the same.

I still use whitelist/blacklist. These are normal fucking terms and I can't stand working with people that use pussified euphemisms like allowlist unironically.

Slight OT, but does this also circumvent the age restrictions too? Yt-dlp alone doesn't afaik.

I suggest using a YouTube front-end instead. Invidious works on desktop and mobile browsers, you can look through instances here. There is also piped.video, which feels more like normal YouTube but only works on desktop. Piped is probably better becuase you can switch instances in the preferences menu without having to change the url.

You don't even need an adblocker for these because they don't run ads in the first place. You can also view adults-only videos without logging in.

Also, andriod users can use NewPipe as well, which is an app.

Install this extension: https://github.com/rotemdan/ExportCookies
Log in on YouTube with an account that can view age restricted videos
Click on the extension icon in your toolbar and export the cookies for youtube's domain
If a video is age restricted, pass --cookies /path/to/cookies.txt to yt-dlp. The cookie will expire after a while (it takes at least a few days), so you'll need to log back in and export them again every so often.
