Hit by Youtube's AdBlocker detection. Help needed.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I use Brave, uBlock origin and a tampermonkey script to get rid of that fucking "allowlisted" bullshit as a failsafe in case the Tunak Tunaks somehow get the upper hand.
Man, thanks so much, I got hit by that this morning and I would've had to stop using Brave to be able to do any technical research today

Right as I stopped skimming this thread, I got the "Ad Blockers are not allowed on Youtube" warning. That's actually the first time I've seen it myself. I was just able to press the X button in the top right corner and now I seem to not get it anymore.

Running Brave on Linux (Pop-OS) with Ublock Origin, had no pop-ups until about 2 hours ago. Everything should be updated. Wouldn't be a problem because I can use yt-dlp to download the videos that I want to watch, but the problem is that I can't download the videos that are age-restricted.

I don't see ads on videos, and many videos play fine, but many are also stalling consistently at the 1 minute mark for several seconds and showing the little loading circle.
This is late, but I'm also experiencing that same behavior with tor and the brave tor window at my job and at home. Every video stalls at the 1 minute mark, I've switched to use an invidious instance instead.

This issue has revently occured to me for the first time ever a few days ago. I'm not sure what I did exactly to make it stop but it may have been something to do with changing the configuration on my DNS server. I cannot say for sure. During this period, yt-dlp was functional, bit any other method I used such as Freetube or MeTube would fail. Yesterday, I was able to access the website again and watch videos without issues. I changed a lot of things in the period between getting this adblock detection thing including changing my dns server config, swapping out ipv4 and ipv6 upstream dns providers, and updating the gravity blocklists running in my pi-hole container. so I can't say for sure what it was actually, but it definitely was not anything related to my web browser.

This is my first time seeing this. Is this new?

I’m so sick of Google’s antics with ads and ad blockers that I’m actually rooting for the courts to break up your company. That’s how much i despise google as a company.

Decided to make a new Google account. While re-uploading extenders, Ublock origin no longer seems to work (even with the home filter turned off). got Ublock origin light that dose block ads but have to wait a few seconds before the video starts playing.

Am I the only one to have that issue with the Youtube player on Brave and Vivaldi? It's been acting weird this week, when I click on a new video it takes a few seconds for the menu to appear.

Just checking in, as of this date, still using a Firefox fork + uBlock Origin, don't have problems now, never have had problems with yt ads on desktop operating systems with this combo.

It looks like YouTube is at it again and have started to display the message.

Experiencing interruptions? Find out why

YouTube displays ‘Experiencing Interruption’ warnings message, along with a link, that directs users to a YouTube help page urging them to check browser extensions, including ad blockers. This issue is not limited to Firefox with uBlock Origin, as Brave users with ad blockers enabled have also reported receiving similar warnings. All in all this is an mild annoyance, but this shows YouTube have still not given up on their shit.

Ah. I've been seeing that, off and on for a few days now. I just figured it was my crappy Comcast Internet at home.

So far still able to use Brave with UBlock Origin fine beyond that, without ads. We shall see what the future holds, I guess.

Oddly SmartTube on my FireTV is still also working fine. I figured that would be gone by now, if nothing else.

New thing today. If the "Experiencing interruptions?" message pops up, when the video eventually loads, its subtitles don't. I don't watch things I don't understand so I habitually shut them off, but now they're not there. Checked a few vids to be sure.

This is violence against weebs, wehraboos, and guys who don't mute the videos of Russian girls trying on clothes.

My Chrome no completely doesn't support ublock with no ways to turn it back on. Are there any new alternative adblocks? I have heard sopmething about Firefox and brave but I was wondering if there was still ways to use adblock on Chrome. Is Origin lite good enough?
