Got the full version of the "first" game from PS+ and I gotta say, Hokkaido is probably one of the easiest levels ever.
I pretty much stumbled onto the sauna controls by complete accident and offed Yuki about 5 minutes in then found and used the neurochip transmitter to have the curator accidentally give me access to the heart. SA/SO in only 30 minutes. All without any map knowledge. Felt kinda disappointed by it specially considering the high praise for the level but I think the rest of the game made up for it.
Also fuck Bangkok.

Out of curiosity, is Senator Troutt a super spergy Trump parody or just a guy who happens to resemble him? Also, snagged legacy pack off PS+ and a $35 copy of the "nu-2" last night. And "the Politican" looks like Joan Rivers mixed with Pelosi

Update: similar to Spyro HD this game has me torn, as I love the gameplay, level design, and mission design, but many of WB's practices with physical copy updates are idiotic. You can kinda tell that the digital version was the highest priority and disc copies were an afterthought. And this is on-top of the fact that challenges are still online only like in Hitman 6.

Good thing the game is still super fun and that my autistic ass loves to play stealth games

Is he the guy in Whittleton Creek? Idk, he seems to be pro immigration as he has a Canadian assistant with him that talks about his views. If you're talking about the ET from 2016, I don't remember a thing about him.

It's out

The Politician ET seems like it was tailor-made to just hand you a free SA rating, as you only need to shoot the heater on the balcony once, and then she'll off herself by smoking there. It does bring up the question about why people in the Hitman world love to smoke in the dumbest of places, i.e. right next to oil canisters, gas canisters, or even stoves, as The Appraiser could also be accomplished easily in a very similar way.

That was genuinely cringey. Made my skin crawl.

The whole thing reaks of r/thathappened. "I did everything on the highest difficulty FWIRST TWY!" Especially when I look into her profile and see this:

I was medically retired from the army and I use games to cope with my PTSD, so combining reviews with my ailment is a great outlet for me.

It just reaks of post-GG narcissism and contempt for anyone who isn't le hardcore epic gaymer

Why do I get the feeling that she did the 6/10 to spite the unethical Kotaku writer. She claims that it’s because it’s easy and short, but that’s probably just ass coverage on her part. At the end of the day Kuktaku and NiggGamer writers are basically birds of the same feather, hell many of the latter were probably associated with/aspiring to be in that clique prior to GG. She kinda reminds me of this lovely creature Jim made fun of

I have a thread on her, shame Jim never made that into a series. Is the Kotaku thing the person who's friends with a writer? I'm surprised the hack even gave it a positive score since there's a ton of people in the Isle of Sgail who are as smug as the typical Kotakunt, and you get to punch them in the face as you please.

In fact, I know a lot of The Isle of Sgail is essential a contrast to Colorado, with it being a place filled with rich crazy Conservatives as opposed to a grungy place for crazy libs. But isn't Kotaku and game journo websites basically like The Ark Society? Places where overpaid people high off their own farts can jerk eachother off?

Whatever, the game looks fun and she just sounds bootyblasted over the fact that Hitman 2 isn’t literally just “Blood Money Rendered in Glacier 2.0”

We already live dangerously by the simple act of smoking so finding a hazard filled place to light up at really gets our adrenalin going.

I'll admit that in retrospect I could have written that review better. As a critic I shouldn't write in a style that could put down those that do enjoy something. FWIW: In that same month I reviewed 7 games or something, on top of my normal editorials, so I was mentally exhausted. I was binging games for 15 hours a day for multiple weeks. Though, the review score I stand by. I like challenge in my stealth games and I found Hitman to be too easy, but again, I could have conveyed that in a better manner. Before the spate of reviews I did that month, I'd never written reviews before, needless to say, it's a learning experience.

And, not that it matters, but I did play it on the hardest settings. I do that in most games I play, something my PS4 trophies can confirm. As for contempt for gamers, nah, I only have contempt for those that get paid to play games and who arent good at them, ie, most game journos. :D

Nah, I stand by that score. Believe it or not but I do separate the art from the artist(s). It's why Prey is one of my favorite games of 2017, and I say that even after writing an expose about SJW shenanigans at the studio. I dislike a lot of its creators, but love the game. Ultimately I have no way to prove this, but I am honest in the articles I write, and I try to be as well informed as I can. It's why for my heated gaming moment article at Niche I read multiple books researching for it. If I'm gunna put my name of something it needs to be a true representation of what I think and feel. And it needs to be backed up by facts if said article is more than just an opinion piece.

I didn't really get a chance to play the first game because I was too young and it was PS exclusive (? dunno I've never joined video game fandoms maybe I'm not autistic after all), SA and Contracts were a couple that I obsessed over for a while. I'm a real sucker for stealth games y'know?

Blood Money was good, I enjoyed the innovations, but the addition of the coin was a double-edged sword for me. I'm kind of a lazy shit so finding ways to drop the coin and lure basically anybody into anywhere became my yen for a while but ultimately killed the replay value. I might go back to SA and Contracts again, don't think I ever got 100% Silent Assassin in either of them (oh shit I'm really not autistic omgomgomg) and probably never will but those to-the-millisecond room clearances with nobody raising the alarm gets my motor revving pretty hard.

TL ; DR: Any game with unskippable cutscenes is trash. If I wanted to hear a little gay baby story I'd read a book (HA! GEHHHH) or watch a movie I'd do that.

X TO SKIP YOU CUCKS

First game was PC exclusive. It was pretty good, if uneven but very unique, first implementation of good rag doll too. IO didn't know what a Hitman game was with the first title and that showed. 4-5 missions in the main character is dropped from a helicopter into a jungle with a big M-60 machine gun or something not Hitman like that. There were no saving in a level either, die and restart, in the foggy jungle where people shot at you from within the fog that was a nightmare. (might have been 2-3 checkpoints and a life system? I don't remember). Hitman 2 came out on Win/PS2/Xbox/GC, that was when they knew what they were doing.

Contracts had a lot of interestingly morbid symbolism and mixed it up, wasn't just a painted over remake.

I kinda liked Contracts more than Silent Assassin, mainly because Contracts added a bunch of nice QOL changes like quicker sedatives, the ability to lock people in closets after either pistol whipping or sedating them, a faster sneaking animation, and less inconsistent AI

Edit: you could hide YOURSELF in closets, but not others, sorry
