Hogwarts Legacy is shaping to be the franchise’s ultimate video game realization, and fans worldwide look forward to the release. The game is less than a month away and is already a massive success on Steam.

The popular PC platform is home to titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Fifa 23. Despite these big games, Hogwarts Legacy is currently at the top spot on Steam’s best-selling games.

This list does not include free-to-play games like CS: GO and Apex Legends. When considering games that need to be purchased, Hogwarts Legacy has pulled ahead of several prevalent games.

While the game is set to release on February 10, 2023, fans can also pre-order the game’s deluxe edition for early access. The early access period begins on February 7, giving deluxe edition owners a three-day head start. Hogwarts Legacy is also available on the Epic Games Store, with a similar early access period.

Hogwarts Legacy promises a unique experience for Harry Potter enthusiasts. The franchise has not seen a major game release for many years, but Hogwarts Legacy aims to change that with a fresh AAA release.

Fans can take on the role of their custom character as they explore the Harry Potter universe. The game includes a vast open world to explore and skills like spells and potion crafting.

PlayStation owners can also enjoy exclusive content that will not be available elsewhere for a whole year. This includes the Hunted Hogsmeade Shop, which comes with the Shopkeeper’s Cosmic set, an extra dungeon, and more.

2023 is packed with exciting releases, and Avalanche Software’s Harry Potter game will be just one of the many exhilarating games this year.

The Steam platform has also seen considerable growth in 2023. It recently saw over 32 million concurrent users, and Hogwarts Legacy appears to have captured a significant chunk of this audience.

The amount of seethe coming from gamingcirclejerk because their failed destruction of the game is something to behold. All the time they spend trying to be the cool kids mocking retarded gamers and it takes 5 minutes for them to go into a complete tardrage over a single video game in a mediocre franchise.
I legitimately do not get the energy people is putting into "hating" this game. (Or JK Rowlings for that matter). I roll my eyes every time certain people go "MAN I SURE HOPE NOBODY IS BUYING THAT GAME THAT MUST NOT BE NAMED". It's so pathetically performative that it slides into creepy territory for me. Like you gotta declare your loyalty to mein fuhrer loudly else you get sent to the camps shit.

Who fucking cares, mate? Don't buy it if you don't like it. Trash games get released all the time.

"Avada Kedavra" is about to be a real life forbidden word, lmfaooooo
Well, why not? Rowling is already She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named to this crowd.
9/10's all a round. GOTY material here and I hope it wins it just to rub in that salt.
Here's hoping, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll be pleasantly surprised if they don't make it an honorable mention instead due to its "effect on marginalized communities".

The journos gave it good scores? Well that clearly confirms that it's shit, but is that a surprise given it's based on the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises? Seriously each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

a-at least the books were good though

"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

This game's discourse is a warzone. Buying it, streaming it and supporting it is a safe way to show that you oppose trans ideology without being cancelled or banned from every social media service. Meanwhile, not only do the trannies interprates this game's success as an attack, they seemed to be shocked and afraid that the systems that have protected them are leaving them out to dry since they are allowing people to stream it.

Doesn't Harry Potter have magic that can completely transform you into the opposite sex? So if I'm understanding them right, they've added a character that is a biological male and instead of transforming into biological female through magic has decided to do bad drag? Pretty based of the gaming company to tell trannies that even in a magical world they will not pass.
It's a potion that's very illegal in the wizard world.

Don't recall which review site it was now but one of them boldly called JK Rowling a "trans hating bigot". And I wondered if she could successfully sue them for libel?
Only if she can prove said libel caused demonstrable harm.

Considering a game based on her IP is breaking sales records even before it released? I'd say you'd have a hard time proving that.

Extra legal spergery: For you to win a libel case, it needs to be more than just a printed untruth.

- The person printing it knew or should have reasonably known it was not true when they did it.
-They did it with intent to cause the subject harm.
-The subject suffered harm.

Most people don't care about Rowling's sexual politics to even weigh the truthfulness of one seething tranny's game review, if they DO, they've likely made up their mind before this game came out, and if anything, are more likely to support her than boycott her upon hearing it.

Libel laws in the UK are more relaxed, Rowling could do it there.
