I still don't get why the fuck did the troon hivemind throw such a shitfit over one silly videogame, when the game itself apparently shills the fuck out of the single troon featured in it. Is it because the troon didn't single-handedly solve the plot by casting "Expecto Dilatum: Quadraginta centesima"?

Because JK Rowling, who is still a loony leftist, decided she doesn't like trannies, like many women who vote for the left, she's upset when they affect her. As a result the troon community freaked out, causing more "conservative" types to start promoting a game with leftist and tranny content that they would normally call out as full of leftist shit, but the game was good enough that everyone who didn't care about the trannies freaking out enjoyed it. Even if it needs DLSS to run reasonably.

Light-moderate. You have a range of spells and there are meaningful differences between them and different synergies between them so you have have different choices of approach in combat that do affect things. There are also talent points that you acquire as you level up which you can spend on enhancing many aspects. Usually they're fairly specific to spells, equipment or tactics. For example, there are Room of Requirement talents which generally improve the effectiveness of consumables, e.g. making mandrakes more effective, invisibility potions last a bit longer, healing potions heal more, etc. Core talents that do things like let you teleport as you dodge instead of just rolling along the ground, combat talents that enhance specific spells. E.g. if you're a big fan of using Incendio (high damage but short range) definitely buy the Talent upgrade that adds a blast effect to it. And there are Dark Arts talents that make it easier to add a curse status to people, make Imperius slaves do more damage and things like that.

We're not talking Dragon Age: Origins by any means. But it does have variety and different approaches. You can also customise wearables to give larger stat bonuses and special qualities such as enhanced Protego against dark wizards, greater impact resistance for fighting trolls, etc. and build up a warddrobe of gear you can use for different tasks. I strongly suggest putting the game on maximum difficulty so that these choices actually matter. Less than that and you can pretty much just blast through without paying much attention to tactics. Game could stand to be a bit harder but then it is a kid's game and it's pretty fun.

Yes. You interact with adult characters and there are teachers some of whom are old, some just adult, then of course students are your age or younger. There are also villagers, etc. who are not directly associated with the school.

You're asking for rational reasons from a gaggle of mentally ill freaks, but here's my best guess. Troons get off on making the entirety of society bend to their whims. When troons say 'jump!' everyone else is supposed to say 'Yes ma'am!'

And it works for them, usually. This was the first time in a long time where their little grip on society was shown to not be as strong as they believed so they seethed and coped in predictable fashion. Also a lot of these troons are obsessed with HP so they weren't allowed to enjoy the RPG they always wanted in the setting while chuddies were.

IIRC the mobile game is mostly that, it also takes place in the 1980s. it was apparently pretty cool, took you through every school year in almost real time, they finally finished the 7th year 2 months ago. meaning if you play now you don't have to wait to play the entire game.

Did that reverse engineered/pirated version ever get finished? I played it a while back and really enjoyed the story and atmosphere, even though it has barely any gameplay. However, if you refuse to drop copious amounts of cash, the game gets virtually unplayable by the third year, so I dropped it.

The last battle plan was entirely, and I kid you not, “if I kill myself, maybe I’ll win”, which made Harry temporarily immortal, and then in the next fight using some absurd leaps in logic the main villains wand shot a killing curse at him, did a fucking backflip and moved the curse back at the baddy. Harry literally did fuck all in the final battle.

And that’s just one bad thing about the book. Most rest of it is teenagers camping and arguing with each other.

Loading is pretty rough (Hogsmeade is basically a bunch of loading doors now at 30-50 seconds a pop), but otherwise I'm amazed the Switch doesn't blow up when you put the cartridge in.

I can forgive a lot of things about Harry Potter but the one thing that will always annoy the shit out of me is the whole "mom died to save him and gave him magical protections" thing. His dad died to save him first.
